Google’s Nexus event has come and gone, we have reviewed the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) and Huawei Watch, and Marshmallow should soon be rolling out to many device owners across the country. It’s a good time to rock Android. But, with all of this excitement, we are sure you may have a few questions lingering in that beautiful mind of yours, so let’s take this time to answer them.
The Q&A Sessions are your chance to ask us anything that might be on your, whether it be Android-related, non Android-related, and everything in between.
Shoot those questions below in the comment section, and then on Friday, our team will choose the best ones to tackle.
To see all of our previous Q&A’s, check them out here.

1. What is the one device that you really wanted to review but never got the chance?
2. At Volume 33, are the Droid Life Q&A Sessions losing steam? Have we asked you pretty much all you want to tell? (except for the specific device-related questions, of course)
3. If you could pick one device since the inception of smartphones/tablets to be upgraded and released in 2016, what would it be and how would you upgrade it?
4. Are any of you, foodies? If so, what has been your favorite stops during your travels?
#2, thankfully, new devices and new versions of android are always coming out, so there’s always something new to talk about. Never losing steam! 🙂
Any idea why Chase Bank refuses to be a payment option outside of Apple Pay? Are they planning their own payment system? They were supposed to be a launch-supported payment option on Android Pay and Samsung Pay and so far no word.
Do all the Nexus 5x’s feel like the black nexus 5 or do the white ones feel like the white nexus 5? I really love the way the white nexus 5 looked when I bought it but I loved the way the black nexus 5 felt. Didn’t realize that till months later because I just assumed both were made out of the same material.
Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I couldn’t find an answer on google.
Would you ever use a slideout keyboard phone like the original Droid again? (Assuming it isn’t given weak specs like so many slider phones suffered)
any tips for those holiday leftovers?
Not that I like the smaller phones, but why do OEMs continue to link smaller with mid range specs? I feel bad for the people that actually want a smaller phone, but have to choose between size and the best specs.
Now that the Kickstarter campaign for the Nextbit Robin has ended with 3,611 backers and $1,362,343 in funding, do you think they can deliver on their promise of a January or February launch?? Also what are your thoughts on the phone??
Speculation on the future of Motorola; ie: Lenovo. Layoffs, no more custom software, etc.
What is your messaging app of choice on your android device?
Should I buy a Note 5 or Nexus 6P?
6P
Do you think adding 3d touch is the next logical step for Android? There are already phones and panels that offer this functionality but do you think they are needed?
Do you guys ever bother to root any more? What are your pros and cons of rooting? Is M going to ruin my rooting fun? How about a poll of rooted users?
I for one am not ready to give it up yet. I still love TiBU too much despite what Google has attempted to do for cloud backups.
What are your impressions so far of the BlackBerry Priv?? Do you think it’ll bring in some money for BlackBerry or do you think it’ll be a flop??
Seahawks or Panthers for the game on Sunday??
Why do you think bezels seem to have gotten bigger this year, making the massive phones even bigger? I feel like bezels peaked in 2013 with the LG G2, Moto X 2013, etc
Can you discuss your thoughts on rooting Nexus devices on Marshmallow and the new security measures.
Does the 5X actually have a metal frame, as mentioned in the Qualcomm release announcement?
https://www.qualcomm.com/news/snapdragon/2015/09/29/google-announces-snapdragon-powered-nexus-5x-and-6p
What do you guys think is gonna happen to the future of motorola as a company? I like the motorola droid products, Is it still worth purchasing there phones even though there is a lot of layoffs?
Poll on how many DroidLifers still have unlimited data on verizon.
Good options for those who don’t want to pay the extra $20/month
Switch to T-Mobile and be free of the evil life sucking organism known as Verizon.
And, free from any cell service where I live.
Ahh. So I’m guessing you don’t live in a major metro area. Sorry bud.
I live in the capital city of a state, but no, I wouldn’t call it a major metro.
Well give it time. T-mobile is expanding at an incredible rate. I made the switch and haven’t looked back. I love the device freedom I have. And I get great service at all the places I travel to. Also wifi-calling is a blessing. Too many Pros for T-Mobile. Too many Cons for Verizon.
I couldn’t agree anymore with you I made the switch last year from Verizon to tmobile and I have never looked back since. There’s a reason why T Mobile got JD Power number one customer service. Whenever there’s a problem with my account or some sort of charge that should not be on my bill they don’t even question or give me a bad time they simply just tell me to wait a few minutes while the problem is being resolved and they end up taking all of the mistake charges off of my account no questions asked. T Mobile is by far the best experience I’ve ever had vs the rest and trust me I’ve been with all of them sprint was by far the worst
Yeah I agree with you. T-Mobile customer service is great. But I disagree with Sprint being the worst. AT&T took that title for me. I’d rank my customer satisfaction with each company like this: T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, then AT&T. I had a problem getting service in Canada and I had a T-Mobile rep help my change my settings. Then he called me back twice to make sure my service was up and running. A1 service right there.
Yup we definitely agree to disagree about spread because sprint told me that they weren’t going to charge me to use the Internet and told me that the first month of service was only going to be the standard charge which was about 60 bucks at the time this was many years ago when I believe that their first minute was free when someone calls you or something like that anyway when I got the first months bill everything they told me was going to be free for the first month I was actually charged for and my first months bill was over $900 of bogus charges so I proceeded to call Sprint customer care and waited on hold for over an hour the lady that I spoke with was extremely rude to me and told me that if the charges were printed on my first month’s statement that I was responsible for paying for them so I miss to talk to her manager well I got out of it but not without a lot of red tape
In 12 Years T-Mo has made no expansion whatsoever in the Midwest in KS, MO, IL. I have driven all through these states with the same dead air as usual, once you leave a major highway or a major populous
this
So you don’t live in a metro area either??
I do. I just am lucky enough to live in a signal dead zone. my UDP vzw phone gets LTE my Fi struggles to get any signal in my house. However, any distance from my home I get LTE from the Fi phone as well.
Amen

Because $50 for unlimited data without throttle can be found elsewhere? Don’t think so.
Sucks to pay $50 now, but it could of been worse and they could of called it quits. I’ll keep it for an extra $20 as a ULD user
I just confirmed that the Best Buy method is alive and well today. I received both an LG G4 and a GS6 Edge, placed the old SIM cards in before powering on and my contract is showing a 2 year extension with unlimited intact. (according to the My Verizon Mobile app)
Before a lot of us jump ship in the next couple of months. I wonder if I can still “sell” 2 unlimited lines on ebay?
I do
I sold mine for many hundreds.
This
Great question we should also take a Poll on how many people are going to be dropping unlimited data after the ridiculous $20 extra add on charge.
What happened to the paid Droid Life writer you were going to get?
^This
What happened to Kyle as well…
Traffic changes, income changes, could be so many things and probably won’t get answered.
Name a potential feature that would make it worth wearing a smartwatch.
How much of a killer feature is the fingerprint reader? Other than unlocking your phone, what other actions can we do or will we be able to do with a fingerprint reader? AndroidPay instant unlock? Unlock LastPast/1Password for easy password entry on the web? Anything else?
Well because they made api’s for it thats all more than likely you can also use it to purchase apps in the play store as well
I could see it being similar implementation to how it works on apple devices.
Any concerns with the nexus 6p having the snapdragon 810?
What’s next for Android? With A nice fresh Re-design in 5.0 and an Even more polished design in 6.0 we have a beautiful UI. Coming into also with 6.0 we ahve FPS and now mobile payment is slowly taking off (after years). What’s the next thing that you think can be crammed into our smartphone lives?? Is it battery tech instead of chargers? Camera optics? More various sensors?
One of the “compromises” with the Nexus 5X is the 2GB of RAM. However is there any solid evidence showing a performance hit compared with 3GB?
Now that all the 2015 flagships are out (including Nexus), where do you think the iPhone vs. Android argument stands?
Is the only useable wrist technology one that displays up your arm for more functionality?
Why can’t Google get Hangouts right after all this time?
More for Kellen: What’s gonna happen with the Trail Blazers now that LMA is with the Spurs?
What should we expect from the OEM’s in 2016? specs, software tweaks, etc.
When are you going to ban Tyler Durden. Kidding, not kidding.

Is the 6P going to be available from Verizon? Have an upgrade available and currently looking to get that phone
Is the only benefit of buying it directly from Verizon the fact that you can pay for it monthly vs all up front?
With carriers moving away from subsidized contract plans, do you think selling unlocked flagship devices compatible with all the major US carriers will catch on with other manufacturers like Samsung and LG?
Now that Verizon passed on the Z4V do you think there is any chance they release the Z5 or a Z5V?
who is going to win the world series?
As a St.Louisan and Cardinals fan, I’d gladly sacrifice my Beloved Cards if it meant the Cubs could go to the WS once in my lifetime. And they might this year too
What features are you most excited for in next year’s flagships?
When will you be reviewing that Nexus P/5X you guys have received 😉 ?
In the “year of compromise” what’s your phone of the year so far?
Mine is the LG G4. Still has removable battery. SD card support. Amazing Camera. Only “negative” that most people say is the LG UI. That’s pretty small in my book.
It’s an underrated device, that’s for sure.
I’m due for my upgrade on Verizon, which means my bill will drop by $25 per month if I don’t use it. Preorder the 5X or 6P? I have an LG G2 and the 5X has the same screen size. I can’t see using a bigger phone but I want the specs of the 6P, especially the bigger battery.
What color/configuration Nexus 5X and 6P is Droid Life purchasing?
What do you guys consider the sweet spot today for a device …considering price and performance ?
What has been your favorite moment from Donald Trump’s presidential campaign?
Yeah, I’m sure they’ll get into a political debate on their smartphone focused site.
Glad you like the idea!
So far, Mike Huckabee has had the best line of the year. What a total freak. https://twitter.com/govmikehuckabee/status/654114071336189952
What are your guys’ top 5 most used apps?
What do you guys know about rooting and bootloaders on the Nexus devices with Marshmellow. I have seen a few comments on it being somewhat harder to root 6.0 on nexus devices. I even saw a few comments of Android moving toward locking down devices like ios. Tell me this isn’t true
How many more years or updates do you think it will take for SmartWatches to become truly mainstream? Or do you see them becoming like tablets, popular for a few years, then sales dropping off like a lemming from a cliff?
Smartwatches will continue to be a niche product until someone comes up with a “killer app” or feature that people can’t live without.
