Mod: Gesture Soft Keys For Galaxy Nexus

by: | posted 02.16.12 | Apps, Galaxy Nexus, News, Root

This morning, our friend MrPicolas sent us a new mod he found for the Galaxy Nexus. If you have been thinking that those soft keys on the bottom of your screen are just taking up space, then you will want to start paying attention. With the assistance of Button Saviour from the Market, this mod will hide the bottom soft keys and allow your device’s display size to become even larger.

You need to be rooted in order to flash the zip, but it is available for almost all of the major custom ROMs that we cover here. AOKP, GummyNex, and Codename are all compatible. Follow the via to find all the downloads and instructions on flashing. And don’t forget to download Button Saviour or the LMT Launcher listing at the source post so you can continue to control your device properly.

Video: Utter! Not Just Another Siri For Android

by: | posted 02.14.12 | Apps, News, Root, Videos

YouTube Preview Image

We have put spotlights on a couple apps that try to replicate the usefulness that iPhone users receive with Siri. None of them have really been able to fully grasp the everyday handiness exactly like Siri, but then again, that’s what makes it Siri. Enter a new player called Utter! The app doesn’t just message people and make calendar events, but can control many aspects of your smartphone that we once thought would be not possible.

What if you could ask your phone how much battery it had left? What if you told your device to reboot into the bootloader or even tell it what to have your processor clocked at? Utter! is in an early beta stage and is not available for download yet, but let’s hope we see it make a great debut sometime soon. Watch the full video and see what all the hype on Utter! is.

Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for DROID Bionic Now has Working 4G LTE Thanks to Latest OTA Update

by: | posted 02.14.12 | Bionic, News, Root

Previous versions of a custom ROM built for the DROID Bionic have been unsuccessful due to a problem with 4G LTE data. Thanks to a recent update to the device from Moto, the underground team has been able to put the pieces together to get the Ice Cream Sandwich build up and running for the masses. If you’re savvy with bootstrapping your device and flashing custom ROMs on a Bionic, then this build is right up your alley.

The first thing you will notice is that this is based on pure vanilla ICS and there is no Blur to be seen. 4G LTE data is working perfectly and only the Camera application is non-working so far, but they’re working on that. You will be able to use all your favorite root-required apps and if you want to give this build a try, then go ahead and follow the via link for instructions and downloads. Happy flashing.
