android hates bluetooth. i have yet to have an android phone where bluetooth worked flawlessly. right now on my nexus 4 it causes my phone’s screen to stay blank when i try to unlock it sometimes. it’s on, but it’s just a blank screen. as soon as i turn my bluetooth off the screen comes on. then sometimes when i try to turn it off it stays locked in the “bluetooth turning off” mode until i reboot my phone. i thought 4.2.2. was supposed to fix the bluetooth problems on this phone. i guess not.

If you look in the Android source code, you’ll see lots of stuff for mako.
tags all the way from 4.2 to 4.2.1-r1.2

It’s old and it may have changed. I don’t recall where I saw it, but I thought the Nexus 4 was now in AOSP?

LG has nothing to do with the updates for the Nexus devices – that’s all Google. That’s the point of being a Nexus device, and while Verizon failed the Nexus name, the manufacturers still have no say in when/how it gets updated.

Most custom ROMs include an adjusted feature of this with more usability. They’ve almost always included a custom notification toggle, but in 4.2 they’ve used the built-in one, but with some adjustments to how each option works (most are now toggles, and in some ROMs, you can customize which options are shown).

After living with CM10.1 for a day, I switched back to the old style notification toggles. I like having a single notification window and a single row of icons to toggle everything I need. Glad CM didn’t remove the old style when they merged the new changes.

this wasnt a stock feature?? a short tap in AOKP turns them on and off, figured that was a no brainer and thats how it was. didnt realize that was a custom ROM feature. definitely like the short tap better. I rather have long press to enter the wifi or bluetooth settings menu

So what happens when mom and dad or grandpa and grandma who are slightly savvy enough to get around Android/JB and only tap the tiles thinking that’s what they’re supposed to do then get confused? lol

I wish they designed in better visual cues when the toggle activates (have the whole square flash or something). As it is, you can barely tell anything has happened (particularly the bluetooth toggle).

Hmmmm… So my over a year old Galaxy Nexus gets an update but my 4 month old Nexus 4 doesn’t…. This is hopefully LG’s last Nexus.

Oh, I see, didn’t even realize CM10.1 changed them to work as actual toggles, while long press makes them take you to their settings. It’s been that way ever since it got introduced and I went straight from CM10-10.1 even on my N7 so I though it was stock xD.
