I can assure you there are a LOT of reasons to poke fun at RIM. Such as uhh “Oh hey look at that iPhone…and what’s this new Android thingy from Google? Maybe we should follow the market and give people the phone they want…nah..we’ll just be arrogant instead and pretend we can sit at the top of our smartphone throne forever and hope it works.” RIM is where it’s at because it deserves to be there. plain and simple. BB10 isn’t going to save them.

@Adrynalyne @mgamerz Well actually he might be right. I am a Samsung GS3 user and I have been following closely some of the news coming out on the BB 10 platform including some leaked demos. Blackberry might just be raising the bar on the competition. Don’t be so quick to dismiss. I think it all good. It will light a fire under Apple particularly since they have been slow with new features. But Android better not be too complacent as well. Apple and Android raised the bar and were dismissed by Blackberry. Look at what happened to RIM?

If you’re in the tech industry (like me) and you have to deal with smartphone security (like me) then you pick up on the details they throw out. As an average consumer, most won’t get those details, and that’s why the unicorn item is there. It plays to both businesses and consumers.

Am I the only one who thinks they spend SO MUCH time drawing your attention to the unicorn game that you miss the whole point of the commercial??

I saw this commercial at least 5 times yesterday and didn’t even know it was a Samsung commercial until I saw this article.

I did not notice ANY of the features that they pointed out, all I saw was a crazy zombie unicorn, and all I heard was things like “real life unicorns have rainbow blood.”

They even interrupt themselves so often that the features that ARE pointed out, aren’t fully mentioned, or can’t be understood.

Terribly ineffective marketing if you ask me.

Umm, but they’re wrong. Power wise, Galaxy could wipe the floor with any Blackberry, but there’s no Android App available that works as well with Exchange than the BB OS. They can be as smug about it all they want but thems the facts.

Well we Android users prefer quality and features while you clearly prefer tech 2 years old put into the same phone chassis over and over again with a fruit on it for 2X the price. To each their own I guess.

It’s not that I hate it, but it’s my least favorite Samsung ad. Maybe it’s my general view of Apple vs “Everyone Else”, but I don’t think we should be punking Blackberry. It’s one thing to make fun of Apple, Samsung’s obvious arch-nemesis. The other ads were clever little pokes but this has gotten a bit out of hand. Let’s not be known as the next arrogant make-fun-of-everyone-else-for-no-reason company. The last company with that title? Apple. Good commercial, Samsung, but please dial it back and keep it classy.
