One thing that irks me is that since this device does not have any physical buttons on the front face of it, why not extend the screen a bit more and get it as close to the edges as possible. The bezel is just a little too big. IMO the bezel should be real thin since no buttons take up any space on the front. Whatever, a small gripe of mine. I already have the Nexus 7 and I would like to get this one but I can't justify the expense. Sure it's bigger and better, in terms of specs, but nonetheless....$400 bones is a bit steep when you already have the Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, HP Touchpad (which is collecting dust on my desk), and 3 home computers. On a side note: Playing porn on all devices at the same time is awesome, highly recommended.

I goto a really small Pre- Collegiate school (there's only about 50 of us between 9th and 10th grade) and a lot of our teachers are wanting to venture into the Android world (our tech class is wanting to start using Android devices to get started with the Android SDK and Java coding). Plus The iPads we have now are the older second generation which have been through a lot in the past 2 years and we have been looking at getting something new which the Nexus devices line up perfectly with! They're cheaper all around (apps, books, device cost, etc) and they offer much more versatility! Plus since we would be taking them home the school would rather lend out a $200 Nexus 7 than a $500 iPad! I didn't really have to convince them of anything seeing as they were already looking at Android and I just showed our tech instructor the Google Play homepage and the prices (which are astonishingly low!!!)!

for everyone saying how huge the bezel is, I think it's just this picture. I believe the menu bars buttons aren't visible and that what we're all seeing as a large bezel, is just a black part of the screen that is off. Look at this picture here (http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/google-nexus-10/) for reference and you can see the screen is about on par with the ends of the stereo speakers on all sides equally. Anyway, this picture makes the bottom bezel look HUGE, and I think it's misleading

Why do people care so much about the apps? I care about the software and the hardware. There are plenty of apps. Android doesn't need to have a tablet version of an app if it already has a phone version. It will work just fine. Optimizing it for tablets would be a bonus. I would stare into the homescreen of this bad boy for hours and hours and hours.

yep, completely agree with you. The Nexus7 display should have been amazing, it had an IPS screen, decent resolution etc, but it looked faded and overall cheap. Comparing specs often times does not translate into real world performance. I don't doubt this display will be good, but apple did a really good job with the retina ipad display, even matching its quality would be amazing.

I also agree with your second comment. Overall build better be premium. I don't mind plastics, just use better quality plastics and make sure the device doesnt feel flimsy. That was another complaint with my nex7. the screen could be pressed into the body and it felt like it was springy almost. And yes... APPS APPS APPS. The main reason I ended up selling the nex7, besides the lackluster display and cheap feeling construction, was the fact that android STILL does not have a decent selection of apps that work for tablet sized screens.

Tablet devices need apps that are made specifically for them in order to be used effectively. What may work on a 5" screen, will look terrible on a 10" screen. You cant just scale the entire app to stretch across the display and call it done, they need to make better use of the larger real estate.

All that said, I have extremely high hopes for the nexus 10. I really hope developers spend more time making tablet apps to really compete with the ipad.

If this had expandable memory I would totally ditch my Transformer Prime. But then again that keyboard dock is so sweet.

Hell, I guess I should just get a Nexus 7 instead so I can have the gamut of screen sizes and still get fast OS updates.
