I’m not saying you HAVE to have it but in order to get all the features Motorola advertises you would have to have a device.

It would actually be helpful to know who that text was from and maybe maybe to even glance over it to make sure it wasn’t from someone important.

You can you use the motoactv without a device. It has 16GB of storage for music. Why would need to stream? And do you really need to worry about that incoming text while out running???

Well technically the Motoactv requires a phone / android device to work for the advanced features such as notification, streaming music, etc. Also the new Nike + uses both the sensor and the App to get more precision and accuracy. But still, I’m not 100% sure the sensor can be used on Android, the app listing doesn’t even say the words Nike + sensor together once.

The Nike + is just a sensor…you still have to have a phone/iPod to use with it which also costs money. Nike+ also only goes by your motion which isn’t all that accurate…

Its still over a $150 even used on ebay. Thats far out compared to something like Nike+ sensors which only cost $20 or so at just about any sporting goods store.

If the Activ would come down in price I think it could easily beat this device. The Activ at least lets you connect and get notifications and the MotoActiv app looks a lot cleaner and polished!
