Never owned a tablet before, but 7″ seemed like an ideal size and from everything I’ve read/watched from I/O attendees this will be a good first experience. Plus it’s a straight from Google Nexus device. I will probably only own Nexus devices again since my purchase of the GNex on release day.

Yesterday, my son forcibly retired my HP touchpad with a hammer. (No joke)

I guess it’s his way of telling me how to use my birthday funds. So, I preordered the Nexus 7 today.

Whelp, on to the next chapter in tablet computing.

That defeats the objective of the Nexus 7. Powerful hardware at a VERY competitive price. This is ASUS/Google’s answer to the Kindle Fire. The selling point is going to be the price vs power, and the Nexus 7 has both. A 10.1″ would be more expensive, which will not sell as well looking from the numbers of other 10.1 tablets at the $300+ range.

I love this tablet. However, I might go with the Microsoft Surface. ( :O ) I feel like I, personally, need a full-fledged OS. As most of the time, I want to mess around with programming and scripting. Something that Android just can’t do all that well at the moment.

My iPad 3rd gen is on eBay. Had to get one for school but now that the program is over I rarely use it.

Ordered the 16 GB of the 7. The iPad felt too large and iOS just feels old already. Really looking forward to this tablet and 4.1, plus, if I neglect it like I did the iPad, it cost half as much, hence half the level of guilt.

What about when you aren’t on wifi? That’s my biggest gripe with little storage and people saying cloud storage is the answer. Until there is free or extremely cheap unlimited internet access every where on every device. I just don’t see could storage as being the answer.

I preordered mine to use indoors, as a interface to control my home media network. I have already have a 10″ tablet, and I find it is to bulky for me.

The only GOOD reason to get anything is that you have a use for it.

No Nexus 7 for me – I just bought a Samsung Tab 2 7.0 – 3wks ago… awesome! Fits my needs perfectly, especially with the microSD Card.

I must say however, had I not made that purchase, this would have been the one! Either way… I’m happy! — 7″ tabs definitely rule!
