I remmembered something I saw the other day….”manufacturer said Gingerbread phones are going to receive update for ICS on the following month”…it was a new post….and at the corner for Jelly Bean!!!…sure manufacturers are slow

Exactly. 4.1 Jelly Bean doesn’t sound like it includes them, hence why it should be 5.0 Jelly Bean with 4.1 being updated ICS.

Sounds good but if you waited, maybe to try out the phone, before you unlocked the bootloader, it sucks to find out that unlocking the BL means a full wipe

Mine is a rev 9 phone as well and I don’t have any light bleed either. Did they ever figure out the difference between rev 9 and rev 10 handsets?

Honestly I think it makes sense. If you screw up the software so it can’t be restored it’s obviously your fault for messing with it badly. And if you’re able to restore back to stock then whatever’s wrong with your phone probably isn’t root related.

I have a feeling there will never be an official update pushed out by Verizon for Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus. They’ll just say it is end of life or something and then offer early upgrade discounts to GN users so they can purchase a RAZR MAXX 2 with shared family data.

Speaking as someone that has had both, yes, the Rezound’s screen is MUCH nicer than the Galaxy Nexus. Clear, bright, ultra-sharp. The GN’s screen was dark and washed out and always had light bleed coming from where the on-screen buttons were being displayed so the bottom half of the screen was lighter than the top. I hated it.

Nice to see people finally speaking up against people who come on here to post comments of entitlement about the glory of rooting and custom ROMs. I’ve done both on many phones, and I prefer leaving this Nexus completely alone. Why should I, and others like me, be bludgeoned to death by “just root your phone” crazies.

Verizon is notoriously slowwwwww, and to boot, they don’t really seem to car much about the GNex. For shame, it is arguably still the best phone out for Big Red.
