There’s as many excuses as words you can write in a license agreement. You cannot purchase a movie or TV show, you can only acquire a license. That’s the legal world you live in.

Me too. I just rented a movie on my phone and ran downstairs to watch it on my GTV, only to find that I can’t! Sucks.

I didn’t see this response sooner, but I’m gonna give that app a try. I prefer a legal and fair-priced option, but if they’re not going to give it to me I’ll keep rocking IceFilms.

I’m having the same problem. Prior to the update I rented two movies through the Android Market and I had no trouble watching them on my Logitech Revue. In YouTube they appeared in a section called “Purchases” or “Rentals”. Last Night I rented American Psycho from the Google Play Store on my phone, but the movie wouldn’t show up in the YouTube app on my Revue. I used the Chrome browser on the Revue to go to YouTube, and I could see the purchase, but couldn’t play it. It said that the browser was not compatible. So, I added it to a Favorites playlist and rebooted the Revue. After that it showed up in the Favorites playlist in both the YouTube app and through the Chrome browser, but still wouldn’t play on either (other YouTube content played just fine). On Google support site (link below) it says that movies rented on a phone or tablet can be viewed on Google TV, but they’re wrong. http://support.google.com/googletv/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guide.cs&guide=1619774

I’m beginning to understand the attraction to iOS and the Apple ecosystem. When you buy a movie on iTunes with any device, you can easily watch it on AppleTV.

I can’t open the market on my Google TV Blu ray player. How do you download Google play on there?

Funny, you think Hulu isn’t available on Google TV because someone’s too lazy to create an app. Hulu isn’t available on Google TV because the broadcast networks that own it do not want it available on that device. There are very few devices explicitly blocked by Hulu; they are the ones where if the network content was available, there would be a very compelling reason for millions of people to drop their cable subscriptions.

Even with all the Revues shortcomings i can still see its potential. Hopefully 3.2, whenever that rolls out will fix some things. Though I use it a lot for media sharing, it supports pretty much every video format I’ve used. Where my PS3 and smart LG can only play certain videos. Anyone who wants Hulu needs to be yelling at Hulu because it makes no sense why my PC,Phone and other devices can use it and stream to my TV but there are licensing issues for GTV.

I don’t browse through the Market or Play Store place too often on my Revue but anytime I do and I click an app to read it’s description, then hit the back button it goes all the way back to the beginning of the app list which is annoying. The new version didn’t even solve this issue. It’s just things like this that keep it from being considered serious in any way. Google TV lacks polish, even what, two years after release and it still feels so Beta like.
Google should admit they hate this whole Google TV idea and move on.

That’s weird. I bought mine from a friend and I had used it before the HC update and it was unbearable for me. I would describe it as something I thought was cool and useful but I wouldn’t let my friends use it because I would be embarrassed by the lag. After the HC update I bought it from my friend and I’ve been showing my gf tips on it and she uses it without complaint.

I really wish the Movies I rented in the “Google Play” (aka Google Market/Movies) could be played on my GoogleTV. And Hulu would get off their butts and make their apps for GoogleTV too.
