I just posted on LG’s mobiles forums about the bootloader status. Given other posts I am sure LG’s response will be “No announcement has been made if the bootloader will be unlocked or not. I will let you know if I hear anything.” But I tried and they may surprise me lol.

Actually I’d say this low price is due to 2 things: 1) LG’s awful showing in the smartphone space: they’re desperate for any kind of foothold they can get 2) The device is shipping with 2.3, but the Gnex already has 4.0. There goes much of your pricing power.

In short, I don’t think we’re quite done with $300 LTE phones just yet.

Holy crap….. Verizon needs to get their nasty, grubby little hands off of these phone designs. A company comes out with something nice (LG, Samsung, HTC, etc.) and they frack it up.I swear, the original LG version of this phone looked better than this. The LTE phone that Sony announced for AT&T today is nice, but I wonder if: a) Verizon will get it, and b) if they’ll screw up that nice design as well.

Not likely….Sprint GN only has 16GB. Verizon GN has 32GB.

You’re right; that sucks, but I’m not a fan of Sense so it’s not too crazy (unless the LG skin is really obtrusive). Still, the screen should make iPhone refugees feel at home (since LG makes the iPhone’s screen, too, and this is the same tech/ppi but bigger).
