Jumptap Releases OS Breakdown Of America

Who doesn’t love a good info-graphic from time to time? The newest graph, released by Jumptap, shows 48 U.S. States and how they rank up against each other in overall OS domination. Within their report, spanning 38 million users, Android ranked 1st at a cool 38%. While iOS wasn’t too far behind at an impressive 33%.

They entitled the top graph, “United States of Android”. Suiting, don’t you think? Other data recorded was Android users likely to interact with advertising depending on which which carrier (of the US’s main four) they were on. Verizon, T-mo, and Sprint all sat around 20%, while AT&T users only showed that 17% were interested in interacting with ads.

We can only imagine that these numbers will continue to grow in the same rate, and that the map will be covered in mostly yellow in just a few years. Hard to believe my state of Oregon is dominated by Blackberry. Ay caramba.

Check the rest of their report, here.

All of the young boys happened to be for that reason very interested to study them and have in effect extremely been making the most of those things. I appreciate you for actually being really considerate and then for pick out these kinds of quality subjects most people are really eager to learn about. Our sincere regret for not expressing gratitude to sooner.

I wanted to send you that little remark so as to give thanks again relating to the lovely principles you have shared here. It has been simply strangely generous with people like you to grant freely what a lot of people would’ve advertised for an ebook in order to make some cash on their own, notably seeing that you could have done it if you considered necessary. The smart ideas also worked like the easy way to recognize that the rest have the same zeal similar to my very own to know a lot more with reference to this condition. I’m sure there are several more enjoyable moments ahead for people who check out your website.

Arkansas <3's Android! Lte coming in September!

And I highly doubt iOS rules in Montana. We just got AT&T in most of the state around march and in Billings most people you see are using Android because Verizon is everywhere here.

I think the only reason Maryland is Blackberry is that some companies require certain employees to have Blackberrys (i.e., Social Security Headquarters).

I’m really taking this with a grain of salt. It’s probably a very small sample; has anyone even heard of Jumptap before? I’d like to see their sample size; maybe it would give this more credibility.

New York is toward Blackberry? That’s a lie. I never see Blackberry anywhere.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=716789798 Lonnie Kerchief

Probably mostly due to NYC with all the business execs. Most businesses still swear by Blackberry for whatever reason and are only slowly beginning to adopt Android. I know businesses that are adopting iPhones over Android, too. I just don’t get it.

Unfortunately the corporate world will continue to support RIM because of their encrypted email.

  • Anonymous

Wait, Tato’s in Oregon now too?

    • Anonymous

I was pretty sure android could encrypt too. There is an option somewhere in my DX that says encrypt.
Sry, meant to reply to the one above you.

  • TomHolmes

Interesting but Blackberry is unlikely to have a single state next year, and I expect the whole of this to be a wash of yellow with a few iOS states remaining by that point. Glad to see my state of Florida is Android-land.

    • Anonymous

Washington, D.C., will probably be BB still, but its not a state so it doesnt count :D.

  • Tittesnbeer126

i live in Montana and i am 100% sure iOS is not more common around here than android. You couldnt even buy an iphone in MT until 2011

  • guest

damn, the one person in Montana has an i*hone…

    • Lodisfury

I live in Montana and work for AT&T and found this really hard to believe considering we have only had AT&T in this state since the middle of April and AT&T gave Alltel customers the choice for either a free Blackberry or Android device when the switch happened. Hate to be that guy but this is definitely not right for Montana. Android or Blackberry for sure.

  • Upstate

Wish they could split out upstate NY and the NYC. I would put money on it that the map would look different then.

  • Fkntwizted

They are high if they say Montana is iphone, he’ll we didn’t have att till about a month ago.. and wet had a serious head start with android…

I’m amazed that CA is more Android-focused than iOS.  I guess there are more pretentious states out there than CA.

  • Henry Evetts

What’s up with the midwesterners/northerners? They still think they’re a bunch of hipsters?

    • Anonymous

As a Midwesterner, I can confirm that far too many iPhone fans around here do think they’re a bunch of hipsters. The blind love and admiration for that platform and that phone is seriously nauseating.

GOD DAMN IT!!!! Minnesota pull your heads outa your asses

    • http://twitter.com/KansasJayhawker Jonathan Reid

Too many f*cking hipsters here in Minneapolis.

  • Anonymous

Considering Verizon’s coverage of the east coast and midwest, and their push of the Droid line, I’m surprised to not see these areas with great Android usage. Is it really possible that the iPhone coming to VZW skewed thosed areas to iPhone territory? I wouldn’t think so, but… Does AT&T actually have better service in those states? Again, it would surprise me…

    • Anonymous

According to this map, Verizon’s been spending a lot of resources investing in LTE on states where the users are on phones that can’t even take advantage of it. Wasting resources or trying to steal users from the competition???

    • Palmyra

DC, Maryland, Maryland is Blackberry because of Federal Government security regulations going back years.  New York is heavy into  Blackberry because of businesses.

      • Anonymous

Yeah, I can totally understand the Blackberry usage along the east coast – it’s the areas that are iPhone dominant that surprise me.

  • MickeyV

The one time a blue state is the wrong state lol

Maryland is neutral? Bullshit. Android is growing faster than the Mexican population
