Just purchased the Droid Charge when switching from AT&T to Verizon (along with moving from the Tampa Bay area in Florida where AT&T ruled to Orange County, CA where I dropped every call). I also converted from iPhone to Droid and couldn’t be happier…with the exception of battery life. This phone does everything I could want from an iPhone and more except for the battery. I’ve had to buy additional chargers to make sure I’m plugged in and fully charged before hitting the road on a site inspection or day excursion. Otherwise, LOVE IT!

I’m with you too. I’ll be getting this phone most likely. It’s thin, and light, and supposedly has all day battery life with 4G LTE. I tried the TBolt and between the weight (which I could have lived with) and the poor battery life (which I could not live with), I ended up returning it. I think this phone will be just fine. Plus the fact that they’re already coming with accessories tells me there may be better support for this model Samsung.

To address the original blog post though, I’m confident that the media dock does not support HDMI since that is on the top right of the phone and the phone from the pictures appears to dock from the bottom left Micro USB port, which I don’t believe supports HDMI. But then again, I could be wrong.

I asked a rep at a corporate store…a good guy…and he says there in the warehouse and they should expect them this month? any news? like this, id love to have a dock…

Funny thing is, I’m still on my OG Droid and I’m I’ve been rocking Gingerbread for at least a few weeks now! And these bozos can’t push out an upgrade? For Galaxy S owners, they have to go to some BS website to upgrade their phones manually. Most people aren’t going to do that, or even know about it…

Year old processor. Old version of Android. Horrid custom skin. Bootloader situation unknown. But worst of all is Samsung’s track record of updating their phones and devices in general. I have a TV that needs a firmware update from them, one they are still selling! Oh, hey, and anyone remember when they put BING all over their Verizon phone?

I played around with the thunderbolt for a couple of hours and besides enjoying the 4g speeds, there was nothing else that impressed me. In order to enjoy the thunderbolt, you need to downgrade default settings; ie: turn off 4g, lower the screen brightness, etc. Why would I want to purchase something that I can’t run efficently with default settings.
