The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, along with the Galaxy Note Edge on Sprint are all receiving updates this morning. The S6 and S6 Edge are only expected to see “various bug fixes and enhancements” in their minor bumps, but the Note Edge is jumping from Android 5.0 to 5.1.
After the update, the Galaxy S6 will land on software version G920PVPU2BOFE, while the S6 Edge will be on G925PVPU2BOFE. As for the Note Edge, you are looking at a software version of N915PVPU4COFE, post update.
Sprint’s changelog doesn’t mention new features with the 5.1 update for the Note Edge, but on stock Android, we did see easier/quicker WiFi and Bluetooth management, plus HD Voice integration and device protection. Tough to say if any of that made it into this phone, since Samsung does as it pleases with Android.
To grab the updates, head into Settings>About phone.

Whats even funnier is that Verizon galaxy s6’s haven’t even received 5.1….
Just to let everyone know (in case you don’t know already), the Note Pro 12.2 SMP900 got 5.0.2 over the weekend…
You happen to have a Logitech keyboard case for the note pro 12.2? I heard that the update kills the Bluetooth connection for that keyboard case and I was curious if you had one and if you do, is it still working? If not, how is the update anyways? Things smoother? Battery life still good?
I do have that keyboard, but to be honest, I never thought to try it. The update actually seems pretty good and smooth. I just got the update yesterday, so I haven’t had a chance to test the battery life.
I’ve had 5.1 on my edge.
Sprint doesn’t even need to do staged roll outs for their updates. If something goes wrong, the customer just thinks it’s an average day with Sprint.
Haha! That’s excellent!
5.1? I didn’t think those devices would ever get it.
That’s why you should never assume things.
Ah yeah I’ve assume right on all other devices so far 🙂
Sprint. lol
I check up on draft that aforesaid 19958$@mt3
