Its obvious that the Apple marketing machine needs more than 48 hours to once again word the “apology” just negative enough that it won’t pi** the judge off.

There is absolutely no technical reason whatsoever why such a change should take more than a few hours, and the only reason I don’t say “minutes” is that A) crafting a new statement could potentially take a few hours, B) it is conceivable that they have a complex hosting/mirroring system in place that requires manual updates across multiple machines and C) information regarding such changes must be communicated to the appropriate staff. 24 to 48 hours is probably appropriate, given the above “devils advocacy” considerations. However, Apple’s claim that an update would take 14 days is ludicrous, and nothing short of a blatant lie to the judges’ faces. This, in and of itself should be sufficient to hold Apple in contempt.

I’d pay to see this happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if this did happen; UK judges just don’t seem like they tolerate shenanigans and are more creative than most US judges. Here’s hoping it does happen.

The definition of apology, according to Merriam-Webster:

“an admission of error or discourtesy accompanied by an expression of regret”

Admission of error or discourtesy? Nope.
Expression of regret? Nope.

Apple’s cavalier attitude is eventually going to catch up with them. And I can’t wait to see the results.

They need to make it “Samsung did not copy us, Sorry for all the trouble everyone”. It needs to be in bold, smack in the middle of their front page…not buried 5 pages deep.
