If i had this function when i visit chicago every so often from st.louis, I’d actually try to use the train service there, to have assistance showing me which way to go. Plus it would be great for visitors, because parking in major cities is awful and expensive,

Word of advice, always assume your train will be late and give yourself extra time. Especially if you have to take the Green Line.

I mostly use the F to commute to Manhattan from Brooklyn and there are two stops where the train is above ground. Basically you need to be ready with phone on because time is ticking before you’re underground again.

Saved Points Of Interest (POI) ala Garmin, rather than the damn stars. Draggable re-routing with unlimited waypoints, and the ability to save those routes. Then Garmin will be completely out of business.

Honest answer is it depends on the line. But the basic answer is no. Only spotty coverage at a few stations.

There is little to nothing cellular and GPS wise in the subway (even at stations). Best bet is to pre-cache the entire city.

Navigation won’t necessarily stop, but without GPS, there is no reason to keep it on while in the subway. So your best bet is to find out which subway you need to get on, and then turn on navigation once you get off.
