  • Lol best part about this is nitro the creator of safe strap broke his razr and sent it in and the was returned a bionic… fail… and droidth3ory the creator of the one and only stable from which is based off .44 soft bricked his phone and has no method to fix it, and he got a nexus so development for that phone has essentially ended. Sadly this was the phone I had and I think I actually preferred over the nexus, but traded it back for the nexus just for for the reason that it had such a huge dev community already as well as the recovery files.

  • You’re posting month old information and Crediting the wrong sources. What has happened to Droid Life.

  • there is also safestrap that helps prevent you from soft bricking made by hashcode look it up if your skeered

  • TOTALLy UNRELATED,,, I noticed this morning on my nexus that no one can hear me when placing a call unless I turn on the speakerphone. Any body else experience this?

    • Someone else posted a CWM for the Razr as well, which got caught by media like XDA and Rootz. He got all credit while nitro got no recognition.

    • hy mang screw u tha gnexs doesnt evn need 2 wait for cwm recoevry bcuz we can unlok it right away

the rasr is a bad phone ok

        • I admittedly didn’t read the entire article. I kind of skimmed along. So I thought by “drama” you meant arguments about how fast the Nexus got recovery and why it’s better than the RAZR and such. Sorry lol

      • we should have expected nexus tools to knock moto products on a blog NOT EVEN INTENDED FOR ANYTHING NEXUS. Go buy a ToolPhone 4S.

      • It’s people like you that make Android not fun anymore. We are no longer a community. Yes the GNex has an unlocked, un-encrypted bootloader, we all know this. But your unlocked bootloader isn’t going to fix its internal hardware. We can never have a perfect phone with Android it seems. We can’t have a vanilla phone with good hardware it seems. Bring the Nexus back to HTC or Moto Google. Stop trying to save Samsung Google

        • I think you Moto fanboys are the biggest bunch of crybabies on the planet. “Waaaa waaaa people love one phone more than the phone i love! Waaaa waaaaaa waaaaaaaa booo hooooo!!”

          • I am not a Moto fanboy. The encrypted bootloaders really sux balls. I just like that they build great stock phones. HTC is my fav, but the Rezound and TB were not that great IMO.

P.S. Samsung hates America and Freedom.

          • I agree that Moto has good build materials, but i dont prefer their design for one, ginormous bezels around the screen. And of course the phones are not developement friendly. The same with HTC, they lock their phones down and really drag their feet on releasing code. Moto and HTC could stand to learn a few things from Samsung, just one year ago I made a pledge to never buy a phone from samsung due to how they are with updates etc, but now, theyve really changed their ways by improving on what people complained about. The Galaxy Nexus doesnt have Moto quality feel too it, but, its a vast improvement. And in one particular area like the buttons on the Gnex, they are the clickiest buttons ive ever used, loads better than my Droid and Droid 2. Moto just needs to follow through on unlocking bootloaders. The development community is the driving force behind Android, and Moto and HTC would be wise to be more dev friendly.

          • In reply to Motorola locking their bootloaders… it’s already been made apparent that the locked bootloaders are not just Motorola’s doing… but mostly Verizon’s.

          • Then please explain to me why Samsungs Android phones on verizon have unlocked bootloaders? You’re going to let Motorola sell you that poor excuse?

          • No you’re proving my point. Nobody is as thin skinned as Moto fanboys. Don’t get me wrong, i don’t care who makes it, if they build a phone that suits my preferences then I will buy it.

    • The drama is the line that has been drawn between gal nex users and others. Silly. I am a Gal Nex owner for the reason this article doesn’t really highlight. The bootstrap method is ok, but if you mess something up, it can brick your phone. permanently. For some reason, gal nex owners take pride in their ability to wait for this and only this phone with an unlockable bootloader.. which somehow makes them and their phone better. If moto were to make their devices unlocked, we wouldnt have this issue and MANY gal nex owners would have other devices. its a great phone, but the argument is all in flexibility, that no other handset has (or is planned to have anytime soon).
