Motorola XOOM Otterbox Defender Case Now Available

by: | posted 06.10.11 | Accessories, News

The Otterbox Defender case for the Motorola XOOM that you have all been waiting for is now available.  It seems like this thing has been in the making for months now, so here’s to hoping it was well worth that long wait.  One thing I do know is that it better act as an ATM or a beer dispenser in order to live up to that steep $89.95 – yikes.  To Otterbox’s defense though, they have made some of the more popular and uber secure products in the past, so I’m not actually doubting that this will be any different.  My teeth just start hurting when I look at a case for a mobile device that cracks the $30 mark.

Anyone used Otterbox products in the past?  Do I dare take the plunge and buy one?  After watching that tablet drop test we posted earlier in the week, I’m sort of feeling like I should.

Sneaky Deal: Official HTC Thunderbolt Replacement Batteries for $19.99

by: | posted 06.07.11 | Accessories, Deals, News

If replacement/backup batteries for your HTC Thunderbolt were something of interest to you then heading over to Verizon’s accessory site immediately would be a good idea.  The official OEM standard battery can be had for $19.99 after a mysterious “additional discount” has been automatically applied by their checkout system.  So yeah, you don’t need a coupon code or anything special.  All you have to do is add the $39.99 standard battery to your cart and once you check out it should show up as $19.99.

DROID Charge Wireless Battery Cover Available Now, Still Nothing for the Thunderbolt

by: | posted 06.06.11 | Accessories, News

Purchased a DROID Charge (our review)?  Ready to experience the future of wireless charging (Qi)?  You can grab the inductive battery cover to attach to it now for $29.99 from Verizon’s accessory store.  Of course, you’ll also have to grab an Energizer mat or similar product to charge it on, but at least you have the option unlike Thunderbolt owners who have been waiting for three months now without word on it.  And not to hi-jack the post before it even gets going, but weren’t we supposed to see a multimedia dock from HTC as well?  Hmmm.

Swiftkey X Released on Android, A Keyboard That Knows You Better Than You

by: | posted 05.27.11 | Accessories

Swiftkey X has arrived.  We all knew that Swiftkey was almost too good at reading your mind, right?  It’s actually hard to imagine that it could get better at it, but it just did.  You may remember a beta version that went into testing a little over a month ago that analyzed your Facebook, Twitter and Gmail accounts?  Well, that version has now become public as version X.  In the past, Swiftkey would simply analyze all of the texts you would send, but with the ability to analyze all of your social networks, it can truly learn from the way you talk to your friends, family and random iPhone friend.  It truly is one of the best keyboards on Android.
