Motorola To Release An iPod Nano? Wait, That’s Not Right

by: | posted 07.28.11 | Accessories

This is the Nano to reinvent the Nano. Motorola is possibly producing an “all-in-one fitness and music personal fitness device”. Try saying that 5 times fast. We’re guessing Moto thinks they can put their own spin on this idea and possibly make it better, even though it looks exactly like the competitions. It does have a couple redeeming qualities though: GPS, for accurate workout stats, wireless sync to PC (and Android devices), and even has an awesome watch band attachment. Err, scratch that.

Even more curious, is that this could be the device we saw way back in May on the supposed XOOM2 site? Who’s looking forward to a probable release of the “MotoActive”? Feel free to trash talk or praise it in the comments section below.

Best Buy Expecting DROID Bionic Cases to Arrive by August 20?

by: | posted 07.26.11 | Accessories, News

I know, I know, another DROID Bionic rumor to finish off a day.  With most of these turning out to be extremely questionable, we almost feel like it’s the HTC Thunderbolt fiasco all over again.  This time though, it’s Best Buy at the podium, showing off an 8/20 in-stock date for Bionic cases.  Now, this could mean we’ll see the device around that date, before or even after!  Wow, that was deep and to the point, wasn’t it?  Actually, we tend to see cases arriving in stores a week or two before the device they support, so let’s start focusing in again on the 9/1 date that we’ve heard a couple of times now.

First Look at the Back of the DROID Bionic, It Most Definitely Has a Hump (Updated)

by: | posted 07.21.11 | Accessories, News

(added high-res pic, click to enlarge)

Thanks to Amazon and Motorola outing accessories well ahead of launch, we may now have the first look at the backside of the DROID Bionic.  There is indeed a hump, but damn are those lines sexy.  We had heard all along that the “Targa” would have similar styling to the DROIDX, yet in a much more refined fashion.  Boy was that tipster spot on.  You can see the camera on there as well which looks to say 8MP, something we’ve known for quite some time.

Four DROID Bionic posts in about an hour – hypebeast.  More on the multimedia dock and car mount, FCC filing with dates, and the new display spot in Verizon stores.

Update:  Many of you are wondering where the battery door is.  I’m just guessing, but will assume that it’ll be like the DROID3 which has one full back cover that can be removed.  The Bionic will have replaceable batteries, something you can see in this new battery dock (Cheers @AndroidTask4ce!):

So, what do you guys think?  Did anyone else just start singing…”My humps, my humps, my humps, my humps…”?

Cheers Tyler and to NCX for the high-res pic!

DROID Bionic Official Car Mount and Dock Possibly Make Appearances on Amazon

by: | posted 07.21.11 | Accessories, News

Hello there, beautiful.  Motorola seems to have set up accessory pages on Amazon for both the multimedia dock and window mount for the DROID Bionic well ahead of launch, giving us one of the first real clear looks at the device.  You can see that the device is sporting a silver rim which is currently seen on the DROID3, but without the lip or slideout keyboard, of course.  I’d say it certainly looks a lot like a more polished version of this device that we saw leak on some overseas forums back in early June.  I’d say this is the final look that is also known as revision 3 around these parts and damn is it sexy.

So since Verizon has started to make room on display units as of this week and Motorola has decided to out the device on Amazon, I’d say we’re just around the corner from a release, wouldn’t you?  One more shot after the break.

New DROID Bionic Cases Are Starting to Appear

by: | posted 07.19.11 | Accessories, News

Let’s not get to crazy over the fact that cases for the new DROID Bionic are now popping up at places like Amazon, but there is no denying that this is a good sign.  Rumors suggesting an August 4 release have been all over the place in the last month, so maybe we are only a few weeks away?  With accessory companies receiving dummy units of some sort to make molds, I would assume that the build is 100% final and that Motorola is just tidying up any last minute bugs before making this thing official.

Wireless Battery Covers for DROID3, Revolution, HTC Thunderbolt Now Available

by: | posted 07.11.11 | Accessories, News

Inductive (wireless) battery covers are finally available for a number of devices including the HTC Thunderbolt, Revolution and DROID3 through Verizon’s accessory store.  Some are cheaper than others (4G phones more expensive), but we’ve included links to all of them below so that you can grab whichever fits your device.  Remember though, that you’ll also need the charging pad in order to use these – last we checked, it was still $69.99.

Official HTC Thunderbolt Desktop Dock Now Available

by: | posted 07.03.11 | Accessories, News, Videos

We’re not sure why HTC can’t seem to produce multimedia docks in a timely fashion, but it sure seems to happen every time they release a meaningful phone.  The DROID Incredible still doesn’t have the official dock that we were promised, and we’re just now getting this one for the Thunderbolt, only it’s not through a carrier or official store.  Nope, you’ll have to buy it through the folks at HTCPedia who happen to have 800+ in stock at this time for $59.99.

If that seems steep, it’s because this is the OEM dock that can fit the Tbolt with an extended battery attached.  It can also charge a spare extended or standard battery in the back side to give you enough juice to last a week or two.

If you want something cheaper though, you may want to check out the Seidio dock that in the Droid Life store right now for just $27.95.
