Thanks to a forum member who goes by the nick JK Shine (get it?) over at SamMobile, we supposedly have the wallpapers for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. There are 13 in total and they certainly look a lot like Galaxy S wallpapers we have seen in the past. They all feature those sort of swooping brush stroke, sea-ish, futuristic jellyfish designs that we have grown accustomed to with Samsung phones. They also tossed in a couple of Material Design friendly options.
And yes, the wallpaper you are seeing in the renders above, that hilariously looks like a “6” even though these phones are of the S7 line, is included. (more…)
Yesterday, on Google’s Design site, Rachel Been penned an article that shared the story of the art behind the new wallpapers in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The story talks of the artist’s (Carl Kleiner) use of different types of paper, layering, and lighting to create these Material Design beauties…wait a minute. Did I just say paper, layering, and lighting? I did. Wait, you mean the Material Design wallpapers in Android 6.0 aren’t just digital creations? They are real compositions of paper that are actual photographs? Indeed they are. How cool is that? (more…)
In Preview 3 of Android 6.0, Google included a handful of new wallpapers, all of which we have for you below. Some of the new wallpapers will look like releases from the past because of their aerial views, but Google also mixed in new colors and textures into many.

Of all of the Google apps reworked to incorporate elements of material design, Calendar may be the slickest. It adopts the design paradigms of Android 5.0 Lollipop – bold colors, hovering widgets, and drop shadows – to great effect. That work extends to the in-app backgrounds; best viewed in tablet mode, each month features gorgeous artwork. (more…)
