HTC One (M8) Available Today at 1PM – Online at All Carriers, In-store at Verizon

htc one m8 launch

Just as we exclusively reported yesterday, the all new HTC One (M8) will be on sale today at 1PM Eastern in the U.S. All of the major U.S. carriers will put the device up for sale through their online stores, but Verizon will have some in-stock, in-store today. That’s right, if you want to get your hands on this phone now, you can.

If you don’t want to go to Verizon, all U.S. carriers will have in-store stock within first few weeks of April. Most in-store before April 10.

Us Cellular anyone?! Or is this the final sign I need to switch carriers?

I hope the early launch and carrier backing can help bring HTC back. I don’t want to live in a world where only Apple and Samsung make phones. Without competition there’s not innovation- which is part of the reason that the Galaxy S5 has only been very scarcely updated.

    • eeeeeeeeeee

That simply wouldn’t happen. People who disliked Apple for ethics reasons and Samsung for quality reason would get Nokia since MS is going to be producing them in house now (sort of like what Google could have done with Motorola).

      • Alex Goings

I am that guy who dislike apple and Samsung for reasons you listed among others. I am nexus :P but I would get this if I were getting a new phone right now.

        • Richard Yarrell

Nexus sucks monkey balls definitely as well as Apple. Samsung owns android period people better get use to it..

Really want the One GPE, please be on verizon this time

Agree 100%. Lack of competition will only hurt consumers.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Soooooooooooooooooo News on the Unlocked version directly from HTC?

    • Greg Morgan

look a little further down, i asked the same thing. looks like it will be available today as well.

  • tanknspank

Does anybody have an idea about how much it will cost using an upgrade on Verizon? Color me curious.

    • flosserelli

More than you would pay with any other carrier.

  • Milind Shah

lol love how many sites have already reviewed the phone and have been using it for a week…i’m pretty sure those reviews will include biased opinions since they were the ‘special ones’

  • OneForTheGoodDays

The pics on Verge are horrific…. blurry, overexposed and washed out.

    • Daeshaun Griffiths

bgr and gsm arena said the camera was weak too

      • ButThatsJustMe

The CNET image of HDR mode is really, really bad.

    • Aooga

Yeah the camera samples were horrible. Every picture with the sky is blown out.

  • Greg Morgan

Does anyone know if they’re selling this directly from HTC like they did with the original One? I would prefer to go that route.

  • Chris Allen

Not all carriers. Seems T-mobile is left out.

    • bkosh84

      Umm….

“All major wireless carriers and retailers including Amazon, Appalachian Wireless, AT&T, Best Buy, Bluegrass Cellular, Car Toys, Chat Mobility, Cincinnati Bell Wireless, Costco, Military Exchange, Net10 Wireless, Pioneer Cellular, RadioShack, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Walmart in the United States, and Airtime, Bell, Rogers, Sasktel, and TELUS in Canada”

      • joshua rodriguez

I just read something on the Android Community that said T-Mobile won’t have it up until the beginning of April. I REALLY hope they’re wrong, i want to get my hands on this phone!

        • bkosh84

You can’t wait a week or two?.. Really?

          • joshua rodriguez

Sure I can, don’t have a choice do I? I would prefer not to.

      • Chris Allen

Nope. Not today like the article that we are all commenting on would suggest.

    • The Narrator

Reading isn’t your strong area, is it

      • Chris Allen

The article here says. “Just as we exclusively reported yesterday, the all new HTC One (M8) will be on sale today at 1PM Eastern in the U.S. All of the major U.S. carriers will put the device up for sale through their online stores, but Verizon will have some in-stock, in-store today. That’s right, if you want to get your hands on this phone now, you can.”
The live stream said nothing about getting it online today from t-mobile. They were explicitly left out.

  • Sunshine

Leave it to the Verge to already have a review out….

    • bkosh84

So does Android Central.. What’s you’re point?

      • Mort

        What is you are point?

    • ButThatsJustMe

Pretty good review, The Verge is one of the few reviews I can believe in. No favoritism towards Lenovo.

      • The Narrator

        They hate anything non Apple

        • ButThatsJustMe

Which of course explains the positive reviews for android phones and M$ products.

          • T4rd

It also explains how Josh Topolski has expressed his preference to Android (specifically the Xperia Z1) in several of his recent Vergecasts.
