DROID Bionic Receives CM10 Alpha Build

The first CM10 Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) ROM for the DROID Bionic has been made available by developer dhacker29. It’s definitely an “alpha” build with things like the camera not working, but if you had already grown bored with Ice Cream Sandwich, then this is your next step. These alpha ROMs are usually just for tinkerers and testers, so proceed with caution.

It’s comical that there is a JB build started and “Early Q3” has long passed without a peep from Verizon or Motorola regarding ICS. Things happen sure, but one of them should step up and say what is going on even if it’s to say “hey, we really muffed up here and it’s going to be late Q3 before we get this cleared up”.

Flashed through safestrap onto bionic running .232 leak… so much smoother than ICS, especially typing. Unfortunately no data or camera.

Who is running ICS leak and running at 1.2GHz? I think the last leak was 235

I am running .232 ICS Leak and my phone got bumped to 1.2GHz, think I
read it depends on the revision of your CPU whether it gets bumped up or
      not.

whats up with this site having so many NON Droid’s? sure, the Gnex and SIII run android, but that doesnt make them true droids. The bionic, Razr, are true droids. theres a difference between a “android” phone and a “Droid” phone.

I had the Droid Charge. It was a DROID, it was a hella lt better than people made it out to be and the Super Amoled Plus display owned. It was stolen, and I miss it, but Asurion replaced it with a brand new Bionic, so I couldn’t complain much. I tried to get a Nexus out of them, but they weren’t willing to offer it 🙁

not really…the droid brand is completely random and arbitrary. Verizon is just trying to make them sound cool. “droid phones” made by motorola have the same UI overlays as all the other phones, same goes for droid incredible etc. by HTC and droid charge by samsung. I never understood this distinction between droid and non droid android phones. it is literally just a brand Verizon stuck onto their exclusive phones, it means nothing.

The real upsetting thing to me about this story is the fact that the developers are putting out JB roms before MotoVerizon has released ICS for the Bionic.

Great job developers! Shame and embarrassment to MotoVerizon for once again not truly giving a crap about supporting their products.

Had it for 2 days now on the bionic. I notice besides the camera not working. also voice to text is not working and data loss every now and again. other than that. Hella fast rom. Thanks to dhacker29 we Bionic users would be still on ICS for another year or so. Kudos dhacker29. Ty.

This time last year it was the most sought after phone in my opinion. It was the mythical beast that kept getting rumored and then pushed back and I HAD to have it. Then it came out….

The most under estimated phone ever. This phone has the power and with ICS it’s going to really ROCK. I can’t wait.

It would have gotten a lot more attention if it was released REMOTELY close to when it was announced. The phone is not bad at all, but the announcement, release, and support by Motorola have been a total failure.

well the first build was lacking, when the first build came out a bunch of newer faster hardware was just released so they went back and rebuilt the whole system. If the bionic used the first build it would of been a crappier device.

NICE!!! Did it cure the data drop issues? What’s your AnTuTu score now. Is your processor running at 1.2GHz now?

I’m running the .232 leak and it’s smooth and fast. Mine didn’t change the CPU to 1.2, but I heard some did. I am unrooted, running the leak, hid the bloatware, and couldn’t be happier. I have had a couple data drop issues, but mostly while at Cedar Point Amusement Park, which is on a peninsula and has weird reception anyways (full bars to no bars depending on where you are in the park).

Mid to late Aug are the thoughts. They want to get an update out to fix the Razr before pushing the Bionic. However, the leaked 235 seems the most stable and OTA worthy.
