Sprint must know that OnePlus is popular in the US, as the carrier is hyping up an upcoming 5G device from the company.

Sprint offers absolutely nothing in terms of specs, pricing or availability, but in its press release, a statement from OnePlus reads, “We are proud to join with Sprint to bring an ultra-premium smartphone to their network. As a community-driven company, we are thrilled to tell OnePlus enthusiasts on the Sprint network that the wait is finally over. This is a tremendous opportunity to expose Sprint customers to the award-winning OnePlus brand.”

Now, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a 5G-powered OnePlus device. During the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus also announced a 5G modelOnePlus 7 Pro 5G. During that announcement, it was made clear that the phone was not yet scheduled to launch in the US, instead headed for Europe. Because Sprint didn’t specifically say which OnePlus model will come to its network with 5G, it remains to be seen what the US is getting.

If we take what OnePlus said last year with regard to 5G and hardware pricing, don’t be surprised if OnePlus’ phone for Sprint comes with a heftier price tag, too.
