Live – NVIDIA CES 2012 Press Event

by: | posted 01.09.12 | Live, News

NVIDIA is the next stop on our CES press event world tour and we are expecting big things. We all know that they have Tegra 3 quad-core chips in tablets, but rumors floating around the Venetian grounds suggest that we may just see the first quad-core phone. NVIDIA’s event from last year was pretty memorable with the introduction of the Tegra 2 – this one could be even bigger.

Live – Samsung CES 2012 Press Event

by: | posted 01.09.12 | Live, News

We are well into CES 2012 press day, but it’s about to get spicy starting at 2PM. Samsung is going to take the stage to unveil what they have in store for the next year. They usually put on one of the better shows. We are fully expecting to see the Galaxy Tab 7.7 with LTE on display after receiving a press release for it earlier. Other than that, it’s anyone’s guess, although we have a pretty good idea with so many of their products making their way into the public within the last few hours. We could see more of their AT&T lineup that includes the Galaxy Note and the new HD Skyrocket. But just a reminder, this is a “Samsung” event, not just a mobile event, so expect TVs and appliances mixed in as well. The Galaxy SIII is not going to happen here.

This should be good, hang with us.

Live – Intel CES 2012 Event

I got blocked out of the Intel event, but Tim was able to make it in early. He’ll do his best to keep you all up to date on what Intel has, just in case they announce some Android stuff. Wish him luck!

Live – LG CES 2012 Press Event

by: | posted 01.09.12 | Live, News

So CES 2012 technically kicked off yesterday, but today is official press day, where companies like LG, Intel, Samsung and NVIDIA are going to show off some of the new innovations that they have coming to your home throughout the next year.

The first of the day is LG, who we can probably expect to announce new TV sets, some appliances, and then hopefully a phone or two. Maybe the LG Spectrum? Any other guesses?

They did give us 3D glasses to wear during some portion of the event, so that’s exciting enough. Live blog after the jump!

Live – Acer Event CES 2012

by: | posted 01.08.12 | Live, News

Well folks, it’s time to kick off CES 2012! We are live from the Acer event that for the most part, is the first real press event of the whole week. Tough to tell what we may see from them, but on the Android front you have to expect some tablets. There is also a chance that we could get a new phone offering, but again, you will just have to follow along with us during this live blog to see.

Our goal is to live blog just like this during each major press event. You should expect pictures, commentary and a break down of the happenings as they unfold. The quality is obviously all dependent on the internet connection that we can sustain during it, which usually isn’t anything to brag about at these press gatherings.

Anyways, buckle up, CES 2012 has officially begun!

Live Chat: Google’s Music Store Announcement in Los Angeles [Ended]

by: | posted 11.16.11 | Live, News

At 2PM today, Google is expected to announce their music store that is rumored to include partnerships with 3 of the big 4 music labels. We saw leaked screenshots of how the store will look on Android at the beginning of the week, so for the moment, we have a pretty good idea as to what we can expect. We can’t forget that Google tends to have at least a couple tricks up their sleeves whenever they announce something new like this though. With T-Mobile splashed all over the event invite, should we expect an exclusive partnership there or something as simple as carrier billing for purchases? We’ll know shortly!

Be sure to watch the live stream along with us at the Android Youtube channel.

Live: HTC Rezound Announcement in NYC [Ended]

by: | posted 11.03.11 | Live, News

The HTC and Beats by Dre event will be kicking off within the hour in NYC, and our man Dan is on the scene to take it all in. We are fully expecting this to be the unveiling of the Rezound along with a release date of November 10 (or close to it). The invite itself doesn’t give many clues, but it’s pretty obvious at this point that one of HTC’s last big releases of the year is going to be this phone on Verizon.
