If you are buying the Nexus 6P or Nexus 5X (I guess the OnePlus 2 is in this boat too) you probably need some USB Type-C cables that can attach to your current ocean of USB charging adapters. Not all of you are going to want to fork out for new adapters, especially (again) with all of your currently owned and still very capable chargers lying around that could be put to use. To help you still take advantage of those, we have coupon codes for Tronsmart’s Type-C cables that offer pretty substantial discounts.
With the codes below, you can grab a USB Type-C to Type-A cable for $6.99 or a Type-C to Type-C cable for $8.99. The Type-C to Type-A cable will be for you to take advantage of your old chargers, while the C-to-C cables are for attaching these phones to other Type-C ports.
Get after ’em.

i need one for the car charger! currently unavailable 🙁
Woo! Thanks Kellen. Was hoping for a good deal on these. I wasn’t about to fork out $30+ for 3 cables.
Sorry for our big mistakes:( Just confirm with our engineers. The cables can support 3A spec and we have fixed the bugs at amazon. Sorry again
Thanks.
Waiting for Monster to release their $50 Type-C cables.
them refferal links 😀
Hahaha…I love how much flack the OP2 gets haha. I think you’ve found a way to backhandedly diss them in like 1 out of every three articles since it came out! Maybe they’ll think a little harder next time they release a “2016 Flagship Killer” with features missing from 2014 :-/
Use the 6P charger with the OP2 and it’ll quick charge as well.
Oh yeah? 🙂
Seems like it. What other reason to use a charger more powerful than the others.
from what i understand, QC needs both the support on the phone as well as a higher amp charger. the QC portion of it regulates the amount of charge based on temp and battery %
a higher amp charger attached to the OP2 should charge it faster than a lower amp charger, but it shouldn’t reach QC speeds.
Anyone know if I the existing wall hubs/chargers for the Nexus 6 will still work (with a usb-a to usb-c cable of course) and provide the full fast charging capabilities? I’ve been searching and haven’t found anything.
I ask because I have two wall chargers, and one car charger which are all fast charge/turbo charge, and I’m hoping I can just get new cables…
I believe you just need a cable and charger that is rated for 5V/3A to take full advantage of the fast charge capabilities. These cables are only rated for 1.5A which isn’t even the QC2.0 rating (2.4A I think) Got all excited for nothing with this deal…
Yeah I saw that too, but there will be plenty of those cables available at low prices once more USB-C devices start hitting the market. Good to hear I can just get the cables (5v/3a) and still use the connectors!
Sorry for our big mistakes:( Just confirm with our engineers. The cables can support 3A spec and we have fixed the bugs at amazon. Sorry again:(
Hey there, since the new nexus phones don’t support quick charge 2.0 and only come with type-c port. So you have to get the new charger which can offer 5V/3A for the phones. Actually we have released a type-c car charger with QC 2.0 at August http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-ccfc-type-c-quick-car-charger Sadly the oneplus two don’t support quick charge 2.0. And for new nexus phones, our type-c car charger can only offer 5V/2.4 A. Guys aren’t satisfied with the output and require us to release the 5V/3A car charger. So we are designing a new type-c charger which can offer 5V/3A and will be coming soon. For the cables above, sorry for our big mistakes:( Just confirm with our engineers. The cables can support 3A spec and we have fixed the bugs at amazon.
The cables are only rated at 1.5A meaning they won’t charge at the 3A spec required for full quick charging on the new Nexus 5X/6P
I was going to order them too..good luck, cock block droidlife lol, jk

I’m beginning to get the impression that we won’t get a Type C to Type A cord that supports 3A. I bought a single cable for connecting Nexus to my laptop. Not seeing anything currently supporting 3A charging other than on OnePlus and Play stores.
I guess it does exist: http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CU029/
… spensive though.
Or if anyone wants to be super cheap (like me). I already have a fast charger included in the box. I don’t need two – I just need an extra cable just in case. It’ll be perfect for my existing 15′ microUSB cable.

You can get a USB 3.1 Type C to A cord like this one: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YT688U0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_4&smid=A1AMUYYA3CT6HJ
I believe they are rated up to 20v/5A (the standard USB 3.1 spec)
I ordered one…. read this comment…. cancelled my order. Good catch!
same here 🙁

I ordered a couple USB Type C to Type A cables from Amazon, Cable Matters brand, and they do specify in the description that they ‘Supports USB Fast Charging @ 5V 3A’, given that the charging brick outputs at 3A, which most quick chargers now output at 2A. They are USB 2.0, but specify that they support fast charge. Quality cables when they are back in stock.
