  • droid-life is making the big bucks now !

now if only arstechnica knew about them…
on the article for the HTC Thunderbolt, they called this site Droid-lite

maybe i should hop on godaddy and register this…

    • Wow they did say Droid Lite. Like we are something new and that was our first big story ever. 🙁

  • Anyone else have trouble with the deposit checks feature of this?

I am on the Droid 1 and it will never focus correctly no matter what I try. It seems to be a common theme in the app comments as well.

Kellex, if you have some sort of contact with the devs, can you please ask them about a fix? =)

    Otherwise, the app is awesome.

  • Deposit checks with the camera? Seems like that leaves room for counterfeiting checks. I guess they figured out how to check the validity very well. I wish my bank would do that.

  • I have the Bank of America app and wish they will follow suite with some of the features here as well. I just wonder about security with all of these banking apps. The chinese hackers that penetrate alot of corporations systems that you never hear of, are damn good. Just say'in, but yeah I like what chase did and wish B of A will do the same.

  • Yeah, I was playing Angry Birds Seasons once day(maybe about a week and a half ago) and noticed the in-game ad “Chase Mobile”, I was like “NO WAY!” and immediately clicked on the ad and headed straight to the Android Market to download the app.

Chase Mobile works great and it's what you'd expect from a banking app. It works really well, is very secure, shows all accounts, can transfer/pay bills, etc, all in a very neatly organized and clean way. Very cool that Chase finally offered a way.

  • I hate chase. I had a long term WaMu account, when it became Chase, it became a new account. Then I started getting letters from other companies saying they were raising my APR and lowering my credit limit due to me not having a long term account. After the first company did it, more letters followed. No long term account and too high debt to credit ratio. I hardly had any debt, but they lowered my credit limits to my balance due. My debt ended up being = to my credit limit. I was so frusterated. Luckily I managed to scrape some of my good history out of the dirt, and get my score back where it belonged, and was able to buy a house with a great rate. But it took me almost a year to fix. So my business to chase has been lost. Just like AT&T lost my business 13 years ago.

    • You could just keep all your money in a coffee can and screw the man all together. Bury it in the hills, Vegas Vacation style.

      • Tried that. You know how hard it is to pay fees with cash when you buy a house? Impossible. They want a record. I told them it was savings from my safe. They asked why I didnt have it in the bank. Unbelievable. I had to gift the money to a relative, and have them “transfer” it back to me. So they had a record. Just to make sure I wasn't buying a home with drug money. She even said that. I said, well I could have just gifted drug money and done the same thing, whats the difference? To me, thats a cover story. Banks just want to have your cash, so they can make money off it. I think cash will be obsolete someday. Back to trading with gold/etc.

        • Yeah, I was being facetious. Banks are a necessary evil and honestly I couldn't do without a debit card/direct deposit.

    • Rob, I hate Chase for a similar reason. I had a Providian card that changed to WaMu after a while. That eventually changed to Chase. I had built up over $10,000 in credit limit since college and was very proud of that. Out of nowhere, I get a letter saying the account had been closed. My mistake for not using the card for 10 months (no warning, and it wasn't even a full year).

Their punishment… they lost my car loan. I refinanced with PNC and stopped giving them business. I just signed up for an Amazon card. It's thru Chase so I'll pay off my $4.52 balance after a $40 promotional credit (bought Donkey Kong Country Returns) and close it. Screw them!

  • Deposit checks with a camera is a win for everyone. The bank can layoff tellers and I can avoid going to speak with a teller.
