“Black Friday” and its never-ending weekend is now over, but that doesn’t meant the deals have stopped. As you all know, today is Cyber Monday, the day built specifically for those of us who want nothing to do with a brick and mortar store on Black Friday. This is the day that online shoppers drool and smile at the deals to be had that do not require us to leave our comfortable office chairs and temperature controlled cubicles.
Like we did on Black Friday, we will continue to update this one massive post, rather than post up each deal individually. So, you may want to check back throughout the day as we try and update it with the best deals around. Some are carry-overs from the weekend, but many are new.
Ready? Let’s save some cash. (more…)
It’s Saturday, the day after Black Friday and two days after Thanksgiving, so if you are reading this then I would imagine you survived. Congrats, by the way, that’s saying something. That means Aunt Beatrice’s hybrid meat-sweet-potato pie was edible and you likely decided to forgo leaving the house yesterday to shop and instead did the 2014 thing, which is shop online.
Speaking of shopping, since it is the weekend and there were all sorts of amazing deals to be had yesterday, we are curious to know what you picked up. Did you jump on Google Play offers that included $50 Google Play credits? Did you make your house smarter by going with the Nest Thermostat that was $50 off just about everywhere? Find a tablet or phone deal you couldn’t pass on? Maybe you didn’t go the electronic route and focused your attention elsewhere?
Let’s hear it – what did you pick up yesterday? (more…)
There may be all sorts of Black Friday deals to be had outside of Droid Life, but we also wanted to point out that the DL Deals shop has plenty of great gift ideas to help round out your shopping day. Plus, you can snag 10% off your order just by plugging in the coupon code “HAPPYBF10” at checkout. Who doesn’t love an additional discount?
You will find deals on additional battery packs (because everyone needs at least a couple of these in their lives), a Bluetooth gaming controller that looks like it was made for the NES, Soundfreaq Bluetooth speaker (powerful speaker that can fit in your pocket), and even an aerial drone that has a camera (while not Android-related, it would be a kick ass present). (more…)
While there are probably more Black Friday 2014 deals than anyone outside of a Black Friday blog can keep track of, we will do our best to try and highlight some of the better as they go live over the next 24 hours or so. Oh, and you may be reading this on Thanksgiving, because well, “Black Friday” seems to start earlier and earlier each year as retailers battle for your attention (and dollars). That’s right, the deals have already begun before you even started eating turkey. Nice of all of our retailer friends, right?
OK, so, this post will be updated as we can get to it. Hopefully, you don’t miss out on too much while you enjoy the long holiday weekend. And, hopefully can find some decent deals on electronics you have been keeping an eye on. (more…)
Verizon’s newly created promotional day – a day outside of Black Friday and Cyber Monday – called Connection Day, has arrived. The thought here is that since today is one of the busiest travel days of the year, Verizon and companies they have partnered with will help you “connect” to people, music, magazines, books, etc. “Stay connected” is one of the many slogans or messages attached. Connect! Yeah!
So what’s the point of it and how does it benefit you? Well, Verizon has partnered with a bunch of companies to give away freebies. You don’t have to be a Verizon customer to get them either – all you need to do is head to their Connection Day website and start accepting goodies. (more…)
I don’t really know what to say with this one other than, yep, the failure that is/was the Amazon Fire Phone is finally priced where it should have been out of the gate. For $199, and without a contract or AT&T involvement, you can buy Amazon’s first, ultra-gimmicky phone.
This unlocked model includes 32GB of storage and works on the following GSM networks, according to Amazon – “All GSM Networks including AT&T, T-Mobile, Walmart Family Mobile, MetroPCS, Brightspot, Simple Mobile, Mobal, Net10, Straight Talk, h20 Wireless, and OneSimCard.” CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon are not compatible. Motorola unveiled its much-anticipated Cyber Monday deal this evening, announcing that they would be slashing the price of the new Moto X (2nd Gen) by $140, while also discounting accessories that you buy with it by 30%. If we do a little math, that drops the $499 Moto X (2nd gen) down to $359 without a contract. That, my friends, is a really good deal. We are talking a phone that is up for phone of the year in the minds of most tech reviewers.
If you decide you don’t want to go the off-contract route, Motorola and Verizon are also discounting the Big Red variant to $0.01 when you sign your life away for two years. (more…)
Desperately need a phone and tablet, but don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend and do not care if they are a couple of years old or refurbished? Check out Expansys and all of their Black Friday weekend deals, including this one, which will land you a Nexus 4 (16GB) and Nexus 7 (2012, 16GB) for $179. Oh, they will even throw in a Nexus 4 bumper too, all for under $200.
Again, neither product is new (both are refurbished) and each is likely to show its age very soon (both are two years old at this point), but still, if you need something now or a cheap present combo, think about it. And as a reminder, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012) are also running Lollipop! (more…)
