Verizon Planned to Sell the Galaxy Nexus for $199 on Black Friday According to Ads

by: | posted 11.25.11 | News

If you aren’t buying into a “Nexus delay” that we have talked about time and time again over the last week, maybe this will help. According to an ad campaign that is running across a variety of sites who are a part of the NetShelter ad network, the Galaxy Nexus should have already been available to the public and on-sale for Black Friday (today) at the low price of $199 on 2-year contract ($100 cheaper than the expected $299 price). So you know, Verizon runs almost all of their major marketing campaigns through NetShelter, so this isn’t just some random network putting out a Black Friday deal to grab attention. This was going to be one spicy deal.

But now, thanks to unconfirmed reasons, the phone won’t be available today. The latest date we have seen from Verizon is December 8. Will we be dancing in G-Nex juice come that day? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Update:  As some have requested, we should talk more about the significance of this price. Has Verizon seen the light and decided to offer their first 4G LTE Android 4.0 device at just $199? Maybe. Was this a Black Friday deal only? Maybe. Is this the 16GB version at $199 with the 32GB version still dropping in at $299? Could be a possibility too. There is no way to tell from this ad. Would be nice to see this price stick for good though, wouldn’t it?

First Look at the Red DROID Incredible 2

by: | posted 11.21.11 | News

There she is in all her red glory (no idea why it’s a female, but it seems fitting). The newest edition of the DROID Incredible 2 has hit VZW storage rooms in order to populate your hands on Black Friday. Did we mention that it will be free for that day only? We showed you the first renders of this device at the end of last week, but wanted to show you it in the flesh as well. It’s a spicy lookin’ Android handset that would be a must-have if it managed to house a dual-core processor and LTE radio into that body.

Verizon Black Friday Specials Include Incredible for $149 and BOGA, Plus Continuum for $99

by: | posted 11.24.10 | News

Fresh off the insider wire, we have the list of Verizon’s Black Friday specials and we’ve trimmed them down to only include smartphones, although at request, I’m sure we could toss back in a few feature phones.  Silly.

So we’ve got a really good deal for the Continuum going on tomorrow and Friday at $99 (after rebate), the LG Vortex for free (after rebate) and the Incredible for $149 plus a BOGA offer all weekend. That’s “buy one phone, get ANY other phone of equal or lesser value” for those new to the shopping lingo.  Think about the possibilities there, people.

Rest of the deals after the break.
