Which one are you leaning towards?

  • kvvmpu

Current user of M7 and was ready to love M9. Well, not anymore. On other hand S6E is really looks and sounds like huge leap forward from M7. Samsung will get my money this time.

  • Thomas

It looks just like the iPhone… Give me a break.

  • rodney11ride

Haven’t we done the glass back before? Ama right? They crack. These are mobile phones people! And most of us cover it with a case!!! Lol

Oh wait sorry. Ooooooo that’s pretty.

  • MichaelFranz

I have to say the only thing that impressed me about the S6 annoucements was the mag strip reader technology. Thats innovative!!. Everythign else was hogwash. I’m sticking with my N6.

  • Guest

    This is the main
area where Samsung needs to still work on. Yes, its availability. They launched
the products and make them available at 1 month duration most of the time. Well,
the best thing I like in Galaxy S6 edge is its curved display from both ends,
less consumption of battery, direct compatibility with wireless charger and
faster charging with quick charge 2.0 charger.

  • Ajmcnicol

G4 as well…Samsung lost a fan when they got rid of removable battery and microsd…LG still does…so they get my money.

  • Mike91270

Is there any credible information on a time frame for the Note 5 release?

    • UnexplainedBacon

  • tomn1ce

They could’ve done a better job in getting these devices in the consumers hands. Why announce it almost 40 days prior the release date? Knowing verizon it won’t be available until May.

  • somad

  • Scott Ricketts

I’m not a Sammy fan at all, but from a straight hardware perspective, these are really nice looking phones with solid specs. I’m not in the market for another phone right now, but dam if that S6E wouldn’t be tempting to me. I’m really anxious to see a camera shootout between this and the M9, and to see reviews on the finished units. Either these look like solid phones that would satisfy most people. Good times to be an Android fan!

  • Synacks

S6 Edge if it can be unlocked or rooted in a fair amount of time.

  • M3D1T8R

M9 clearly beats S6 in most areas (battery life, speakers, SD slot, on screen keys, width, software, price, probably signal strength going by past performance). S6 only wins in display and wireless charging, and if you care about the Edge gimmick. I’m assuming cameras are both good enough, so probably a wash.
Funny that last year the S5 had the 2800mAh battery and the M8 was 2600. This year it’s almost exactly the opposite (M9 2840, S6 2550/ S6E 2600), and yet the S6 has a much higher res screen. Battery life is going to be very poor on the S6, unless they implemented some very heavy throttling, which would impact performance.
So to answer the question, I’m leaning heavily towards the One M9 over either S6.

    • Amen.

    • cdm283813

A few people are still buying Blackberry phones so I’m not surprised by your support for the M9. For every 1 person that liked the HTC M8 S there are 50 more that hate it after the Samsung event.
The only saving grace is the VR headset. Otherwise HTC is going to need Vaseline to ease the pain. At least the Edge will make it easier going in.

      • M3D1T8R

Not sure how Blackberry is relevant to the M9. Not sure what the point is talking about this non-existent “M8 S” product (Kellen likes talking about it too for some reason). Also not sure what Vaseline has to do with the discussion. But it’s the kind of childish response I’d expect from someone who can’t be bothered to respond to any of the actual spec list comparisons I referenced.

        • thistimearound

I feel like you might have missed the jokes. :/

          • asianrage

Maybe the joke wasn’t very good?

    • Synacks

the battery life on the S6 is rumored to be better than the S5, even with the lack of a couple hundred mah. While battery size is a good indicator of battery life, the OS improvements will make the difference and more. Not to mention HTC doesn’t typically have experience or the care for battery life in their past. The extreme power saver is good but I’m talking about normal use full battery power.

    • PoisonApple31

The reason I haven’t considered HTC in the last two years is the huge footprint that encases a measly 5″ screen. I can see how the front facing speakers would be nice for those who are always attached to their phone and/or traveling, but my reality involves hooking up to audio equipment via bluetooth whether it be my car, home, or at the office (headphones or speakers).

    • Gideon Waxfarb

We’ll see if the M9 has a multi-color LED for Light Flow support. (The M8 didn’t, and that’s the main reason I didn’t buy one, besides the mediocre camera.)

    • Michael Jones

HTC didn’t even put OIS in their camera despite how much thicker the M9 is and the small camera bump. I’m surprised by it actually. I doubt the camera will be close to the S6 in low light conditions.

    • Scott

I like the part where you know battery life, speaker quality, and signal strength for both phones before anyone in the world has tested them in the real world. And S6 price hasn’t been released yet.

  • Cleevens Joseph

    $499 On Contract For S6 Edge..(Sighs)

  • MJ

EDGE! hopefully they carry 64 & 128 gb models and not just the 32gb

  • jerflash

If they make and Edge in red…i may reach into my pocket but right now still loving my Z3C

    • cdm283813

A ruby red with that green would make some sweet looking phones.

  • cdm283813

    $200 for the 32GB S6
    $300 for the 32GB S6 Edge (I hope it’s $250 but I doubt it.)

    • Synacks

      Is this confirmed?

      • Keith Taylor

Who knows. some guy just said that the edge was 499 on contract. I love when folks have no idea but think they do. Maybe since this was posted there may be some sites that have the prices up but I havent seen them.

  • Tony B

The Edge is looking like the better device…IMO…

    • Jeff718

Not a fan of Samsung devices, but the Edge is beautiful.

      • Killzowned

Definitely agree. Moving from my nexus 5 to the s6 edge

  • Chippah

Samsung pay still looks like a pita to use with a line of people in a hurry but they really shoved it up Apples ass
with the magnetic strip technology to be used on any terminal that takes a credit card.

    • HitokiriX

If you were already in line and are going to pay for your merchandise using your phone… chances are you’re gonna already have it out and ready to pay. It seems pretty straight forward. Swipe up, scan finger, place phone to reader.

    • Radies and Jentamen! Here we go again…Lol.

  • bose301s

Which one am I going for? Neither, it would take a lot for me to ever go back to Samsung, like Samsung would have to buy me a house, car and pay me a million dollars a month for life.

    • Get lost, you sound delusional

    • jhouk

That’s the same way I feel about Motorola. After the Droid X2 debacle, Moto is forever dead to me. That said, I think my wife and I will both opt for just the S6. I like the edge, but might not have use for the extra features at this time.

  • Chippah

The edge is still a stupid gimmick and makes the screen even more vulnerable to damage..
the S6 regular looks decent, but the Note 5 may be very interesting as the the Note is the flagship device.

    • cdm283813

I want a different look. I’ve grown bored with the same display idea since the beginning of time. Can’t say that I will love it but I’m giving it a try.

People use to hate large phones and now look.

  • The Doctor

    • StankyChikin

Yes.. I am waiting to see what Sony and LG offer up before deciding on an upgrade.

      • OF

        That’s my plan too.

        • micahboyd

Yeah! Its a good idea. But hope its not too long though. /micahbooyd from http://www.totalviewer.org/phones/

With that Snapdragon 810 it’s going to be called G4 throttle. And I have no doubt that the S6 display will be the best on the market. Samsung knows how to make a display and has finally beat Apple in that department last year.

      • StankyChikin

        Drink Kool Aid much?

        • David Stevens

      • Keith Ho

I agree with you on Samsung’s display. It is the best I’ve seen. I own an LG G3 and the display is washed out, the UI lags a bunch and battery life is 1/2 day of use. I like the Iphone 6 design but the UI is very primitive and Apple ecosystem is expensive. I will buy the Samsung S6 Edge when it comes out.

        • AvalancheRyder

How is the Apple ecosystem more expensive than Samsung/Android?

          • jimt

You would have to replace all your apps moving from one to the other.

          • David Stevens

Android users always claim “free apps.” And Apple is too expensive.

    • T4rd

Following last years formula; It’ll probably use the worlds first mediocre UHD display on the market with a previous gen SoC. =p

    • Turb0wned

      Z4 or G4

  • teebone

S6 edge, ftw!!!! I’m buying myself the 64 gig black pearl version 🙂 Can’t wait!!!!

  • Tyler Durden

why make people wait a month+?

    • HitokiriX

Why are you in every thread to complain about something you say you don’t like and have no interest in buying?

      • David Stevens

He’s allowed to have an opinion.

        • HitokiriX

You and him do the same thing. So, I’m sure you don’t mind.

If I had no interest in a device, I’m not going to enter 4-5 different threads about it to state my opinion over and over and over again. Once is enough. You don’t add to a discussion by constantly repeating yourself.

          • David Stevens

You follow us in every thread……

          • HitokiriX

First time I have ever replied to him and only the second thread I ever replied to you.

            Try again.

          • David Stevens

            Stop while youre behind

          • HitokiriX

            Thought so. Move along now.

          • David Stevens

            Haha man you got me…

          • PoisonApple31

They may do the same thing, but David is Tyler’s toilet paper.

          • Keith Taylor

the battery gonna suck. the battery gonna suck, the battery gonna suck.
you mean like that. Funny thing is that if Apple came with a 1600 mill battery it would be ok with the these guys.
Oh did I mention that the battery sucks./

      • Tyler Durden

I’m asking a legitimate question..or are you a republican and want to take away muh rightz!?

        • JakeB

          What an ignorant statement.

    • David Stevens

Exactly. Apple sells more then all these guys and gets it in our hands within two weeks….

      • glimmerman76

On what planet are you living. Apple has 13% give or take of world market. Samsung is at 24% give or take. Who sells more phones

        • David Stevens

Flagship for Flagship, Apple does. If you want to count the dozen or so mid range phones Samsung sells thought the year then yeah maybe. But hen again, Apple makes way more money phone for phone.

      • Hooves, sheep have hooves.

        • David Stevens

I’m making a point that all OEMS could have these in our hands sooner. Think about how many people would preorder these things if it were available this Friday. You would have a ton of impulse buys. Shoot, I would even get the edge. Knowing that it’s not available until almost may…. Well makes me second think wether or not I want it…. Point is Apple does it right… What’s the point of announcing it if I can’t readily purchase it? Not even close to being able to?

          • I agree. Their piggybacking on the hype that the MWC creates I guess.
I’ve been waiting for near 5 months to get a Nexus 6 through Verizon Edge, which I’m currently stuck with, I know what it feels like to wait. Lol.

          • David Stevens

I don’t know why they take this approach, they probably think they’re creating hype but they’re doing the exact opposite. I would purchase the edge right now or within the next couple days. Once it’s actualy available il be ready for the G4 and iPhone 7

    • cdm283813

To give the haters enough time to find a rock to crawl under.

      • Tyler Durden

lol “hater”, they’re nice phones, but that battery, good luck.

    • MrToTo83

A month is not that long of a wait time after an announcement. A lot of manufactures have a wait time after an announcement to start shipping and insuring stock. Apple does this as well. Not saying all do but from what I have seen in the past the major players do.

  • Alfredo Manuel Gonzalez II

  • Keith Taylor

Despite what some are saying IMO the Edge in green is a damn good looking phone.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

I squint everytime I see the green man that thing is Ugly lol. . . But It’s just color all personal preference

      • Keith Taylor

Dunno dude for some reason at around 1989 I started liking the color green. It was starting to be used alot on cars of that era. Full dis-closer I am a car guy and no nothing really about tech I just have an appreciation for it. Now that I am 48 (yes I am older than most here) I all of a sudden like orange as well (about 7 years now) I dont get it. I have to say if this came in pearl orange or burnt orange it would be one of my first choices.

    • Lucky Armpit

Yeah man the Edge is a nice-looking device. Will have to decide between it and the Nexus 6.

    • OF

It’s funny. I would have never considered a green phone before. But now? considering…

  • art

Edge. Note 4 owner but if the S6 Edge looks and performs as good as it sounds I want one.

    • Same here I think the S line is too small but man I’m thinking about grabbing one of these until the Note 5 is released

      • PoisonApple31

I’m curious about the battery life, but I have the same idea you do.

    • cdm283813

Same situation. The Edge will be my daily driver and the Note 4 will be at home when I use Gear VR. The S6 Edge is too sexy to pass up right now.

  • Keith Taylor

I would have to say that when my contract is up in Dec that the S6 edge is up there with the Note5 and G4. I have no order right now but love my G2.

    • OF

Well at that point might as well wait to see the S7.

      • Keith Taylor

Honestly at that point the G4 and S6 could be picked up on Amazon for a penny like I did the G2 15 months ago. Thats a factor for me.

      • cdm283813

I already see the Black Friday S6 deals increasing Samsung’s lead come late November. I’m pretty confident LG, Moto and Sony will have nothing to battle that phone. If LG is serious they need to show that G4 ASAP.

        • Keith Taylor

Honestly I think that LG can wait a minute. They have moved up the schedule to introduce about a month earlier. My biggest concern or them is that alot of folks have not placed a high premium on materials. It has never mattered to me as most folks just slap a case on their phones and call it a day. I dont. I get no joy out of how an Iphone vs a G2 feels in my hand. I care about performance (overall) and to some point how much it costs. My Xoom is made of metal and to be honest I dont know what the big deal is.
I just wish that Sony would give me a reason to buy their wares.

  • StankyChikin

Verizon will have wireless charging removed so that they can sell more accessories.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

How does that help them sell accessories?

      • StankyChikin

They can sell cases that enable wireless charging

        • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Oh I see. I mean in that case they can just sell wireless chargers.

        • Dominick White

That wasn’t Verizon. that was more of lg doing than anything

          • StankyChikin

That was the carriers telling LG not to include it.

    • hexodat64

Verizon has a history of adding wireless charging to phones…why would they remove it? You should be more worried about a logo on the home button

      • StankyChikin

LG G3 had wireless charging.. The carriers had it removed…

        • hexodat64

I didn’t know that, but seeing as this has a sealed battery and non removable back, they can’t just sell another back plate. Needs to be built in or can’t have it with this phone

      • HitokiriX

Verizon removes it so they can sell you their third-party products

      • cdm283813

Adding a logo to the home button would interfere with the fingerprint reader. The Note 4 has the logo on the removable rear cover. I honestly don’t see room at the top front. Only spot left is on the back.

        • jimt

Under the glass I assume. Verizon will figure out how to but it on the button or just demand it, it is Verizon, right? If they put it on top of the glass people would just scrape it off.

  • Voltism

I have a bad feeling these are going to be really really expensive…

    • Mark Aaron Collado

      900+ $ $ $

  • Ben Murphy

I’m on the edge. Can’t decide. Oh wait…

    • Matute

      Edge is useless by now.

  • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

EDGE (You guys should make it the stock pic for S6 stories). . . I don’t need Dev model just an unlocked model directly from Samsung

  • amanda

    Still debating on which one
