new cyanogenmod logo

Goodbye quasi-beta aka Release Candidate “RC” builds of CyanogenMod 10.1, hello official general release. Tonight, official general builds are hitting servers for most of the top devices that are supported by the CM team.

In terms of what’s next for Team Douche, they gave a tiny bit of insight in the following blog post:

Next on deck

With the 10.1.0 code finalized, we will return to our M-release cycle and work towards adding additional functionality and features; including the new Privacy Guard feature, which was merged into the nightlies today.

There are many new and exciting things planned for the remainder of the year, just wait and see what we will do next!

You will be able to find all of the newest builds of CM right on their servers, here.

I usually run nightlies but there hasn’t been one since this update. Is this update RC5? They should include a date under each rom so I know if it’s newer then my nightly.

    No S4 love :-(

  • Priorities

    Still no changelog?

  • Stephen

all i want is droid dna support :( we have s-off!!!

  • Bernardo Casado

ey, does anyone know if we have to instal all the gapps?? and if it does, where are they?

    • turdbogls

yes, Gapps need to be installed along-side the ROM. the latest Gapps package can be found here: http://goo.im/gapps

we really need an updated Gapps package. if someone has an updated unofficial package, feel free to post it.

      • Bernardo Casado

anyone find a good rom for the DNA? The CM10 unofficial branch wouldn’t boot past the loading image even after wiping data :(

    • Stephen

i feel your pain with the no cm10 on the dna. i got it running, but im currently in ireland so i needed something global (which they had i guess technically.) im running a sense 5 rom right now but i really miss cm10.1

  • Michael G

After dealing with laggy nightlies I finally flashed RC5. Not too bad. It’s more stable than the last nightly I had but it still has it’s lag moments. (GNex toro)

    • turdbogls

you should really give “greenify” a try (if you already don’t use it)
i also had those random Lags here and there, since the install of that app, and “hibernating” a lot of the apps, not only am i seeing better battery life, but I haven’t seen as much random lag as before. may just be Placebo, but i really hope not.

  • shecalledmejay

I never bothered with this rom because it seemed like it was always a nightly build.

  • Ryan Phelos

I haven’t used this ROM since the OG Droid days. How is it?

    • Blake DeVoss

      Butter.

  • Bobby Buttons

Anyone else have GPS issues on their GS3 with CM 10.1? I’m on RC5 and the GPS goes crazy after using it for a bit. It doesn’t happen on TouchWiz.

    • Khary Anderson

It’s a problem with AOSP ROMs I believe. Do you also experience low signal at times and MMS failures in addition to the GPS problems? or is that just me?

    • Los

I have since RC 3 going to flash it to see how it behaves.

    • Steve Benson

AOSP on the GS3 is and always will be a hot mess. You’re better off sticking with touchwiz.

      • uthinkisay

AOKP works great for me on my GS3

        • Steve Benson

          How’s bluetooth working for ya?

          • umbrellacorp

It works great for me on AOKP. It barely works at all with CM 10.x.

    • imtoomuch

I don’t have that GPS issue, but mine sometimes takes a while to connect to the satellites.

I do have problems with signal, failed messages, and erratic Bluetooth.

  • azndan4

Hopefully they bring customizable lock screen gestures back

  • hackthis02

I wondered if they fixed that group messaging issue I’ve had with my last two phones that ran CM10.1

    • brkshr

Been working fine for me on my N4 since December.

      • hackthis02

Odd. I’m able to send group messages. but half the replies go to that persons thread rather then the group thread.

  • KleenDroid

    Holy smokes
