A fresh month always means a fresh Android update has been prepared by Google, and we are getting just that to kick off February. Available now, we have the February Android security patch for Pixel phones, with builds for the Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 5 all going live this morning. If you want to update immediately rather than wait for Google to push it, you can do so via factory image or OTA file.
Currently, we are seeing new 11.0.0 files for Pixel 5 (RQ1A.210205.004, RQ1D.210205.004, RQ1C.210205.006), Pixel 4a 5G (RQ1A.210205.004, RQ1D.210205.004, RQ1C.210205.006), Pixel 4a (RQ1A.210205.004), Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL (RQ1A.210205.004), Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL (RQ1A.210205.004), and Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL (RQ1A.210205.004, RQ1D.210205.004).
For specifics on each build:
- Pixel 5: RQ1A.210205.004 (Global), RQ1D.210205.004 (Verizon), RQ1C.210205.006 (T-Mobile)
- Pixel 4a 5G: RQ1A.210205.004 (Global), RQ1D.210205.004 (Verizon), RQ1C.210205.006 (T-Mobile)
- Pixel 3: RQ1A.210205.004 (Global), RQ1D.210205.004 (Verizon)
Here are the notable fixes for this month:
As a reminder, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are no longer supported by Google and reached end-of-life status at the end of last year.
If you don’t want to wait for Google and prefer to update manually, you will find each image or OTA file at the links below. For instructions on how to flash a factory image, here you go. For instructions on how to flash an OTA .zip file, here you go.
We’ll update this post as more info arrives.

Now don’t we all feel better?
Nothing yet on my unlocked Pixel 4a.
Edit: Installing now.
4a 5G 49.85, on TMobile
Looks like the last laugh is on you. My Razer Phone 2 is on the November security patch. Booyah.
My proximity sensor hasn’t been shutting my screen off when I hold my phone up to my dumb head while taking calls for a while now. This update didn’t fix it, either (neither did a factory reset a month or so ago). So that’s fun.
I keep running into this too but I never noticed it before the January update.
What Pixel model do you have? The proximity sensor is working fine on my 4a.
I have the 4xl. It seems to be the only sensor with any issues.
Now I’m just waiting for the Android 12 dev preview. Hoping that comes this week, too.
downloading now on Pixel 5 (Verizon)…only a 4.62 MB update.
Woke up to it prompting me to install on my Note 20 Ultra.
So you are saying Google released the Android update 30 minutes ago and Samsung already got it and ran it through their teams and pushed out the update to Note already? Smells like BS to me
These security updates are available for a couple of weeks. Samsung releases on the 1st of the month (for flagships) while Google releases on the first business day of the month. It’s very plausible that Samsung released for the Note line.
Yep. There have been several phones that at times receive monthly security updates before Google releases them for Pixels, including some Samsung devices.
Yup…like clockwork for the last year+ sammy has been releasing them same day, sometimes even BEFORE google for their flagships.
They’ve improved massively
My unlocked S20 got the February update today as well.
So you are saying Google released the Android update 30 minutes ago and Samsung already got it and ran it through their teams and pushed out the update to S20 already? Smells like BS to me
Samsung has been releasing the security patch before Google for months now. The international S20 got it last week…
Smells like someone hasn’t been paying attention to security updates for the past couple of years.
