Verizon has Big Plans for Tomorrow and July 17 – 50% Off Phones, G3 Launch, Z2 Tablet, and More

According to sources of ours, Verizon has a handful of announcements prepared that involve happenings on July 10 and July 17. Outside of their plans to make 4G LTE a part of their ALLSET prepaid plan, which we first reported last week, we should also expect a big 50% off phone deal that will run for a couple of weeks, along with pre-orders and launch dates for the Xperia Z2 Tablet, LG G3, and G Watch.

Starting tomorrow, Verizon is hosting a 50% off phone deal that will run from July 10 through July 27. You will see phones included in the deal like the Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8), Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5s, and yes, the LG G3. Obviously, these discounts require a new 2-year agreement, which will bring them down to $99.99 (GS5, G3, One) or $149.99 (Note 3) on-contract. There will be discounts on a variety of other phones as well, like the original One (M7) for $49.99, Moto X for $24.99, and Galaxy S4 for $49.99.

Speaking of the LG G3, sources informed us that Verizon will make the phone available on July 17 with a pre-order kicking off tomorrow. The original price was expected to be $199 on-contract, but the 50% off deal we just mentioned will indeed bring it down to $99.99 with new 2-year agreement. We are told that the LG G Watch (review) will join the G3 with a pre-order tomorrow as well.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will go up for pre-order starting tomorrow, with a launch of July 17. If you needed further proof of that, take a look at Verizon’s Testman site which already lists the tablet as being available for pre-order. Unfortunately, we have no word on the Xperia Z2 phone, only that the employee training leak from yesterday was actually referring to the tablet, not the phone.

On a related note, we should see open enrollment for equipment protection plans run from July 10 through September 9, in case you missed out on that protection opportunity at the time of purchase.

Tomorrow should be a big day.

The one thing I can’t get a straight answer on is if Verizon’s version will be ready for wireless charging out of the box, or do you have to buy another case or battery cover.

  • indianafanatic

    Verizon’s G3 iteration has a non-removable battery.

    • Tommysmallss

At least it has 3 GB RAM and Verizon didn’t try to mess that up too.

    • compujas

So the back cover is removable but the battery is fixed? Probably their way of convincing you to upgrade when your battery starts dying.

    • Ignorant_Apple_Sheep

I just had the same chat and the person I spoke with said it was a typo.

    • Tommysmallss

Apparently, now Verizon is saying the battery is removable. They removed that part from the specs. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/device/smartphone/lg-g3?&zipRdr=y

      • indianafanatic

Thanks for the update – I guess I can remove my picture & post.

  • Ricky Murray

Hope someone picked it up for the midnight launch. I should have instead of waiting to talk to my wife. You got a free LG watch for the package of $99, and now you have to pay for it. damn you big red!!!!!!

  • Eddie Spageddie

Finally…can’t wait to get this gem in my hands next week. The shipping info said it would ship within 2 days of the 7/17 date…I guess that could mean either before or after that date. What’s strange is that the specs say the battery is non-removable.

    • Ignorant_Apple_Sheep

That was a typo and has since been corrected on their site.

  • kristin

I have G3. I got it today from att. I can’t stop playing with it. I love it! Its so customizable. I did have do disable some serious bloatware, but it’s android. Just have to use your noggin. Wish there were more cases out there. In time I suppose. I have the quick circle case in the mail…

Uncle Owen just got an awesome blue BMW 7 Series Sedan just by part time work
    from a computer… this website

    • compujas

What about Aunt Beru? She got stuck with the beater-mobile, didn’t she? That Uncle Owen is a real jerk sometimes.

  • monkeybutts

if only it was 50% off contract.

    • JSo

This is Verizon we are talking about.

    • compujas

Even $100 to match the dollar discount would be something. But yeah, it’s Verizon, you’ll take and you’ll like it, and don’t expect breakfast from them in the morning.

  • trob6969

Im really trying to hold out to see what the Note 4 offers but im so tempted by the G3.

  • Sam

i wonder if Best Buy will have 50% off?

  • Greyhame

Those are some solid deals, provided you are looking for a contract. Only $25 for the Moto X? A steal. Looking at the reduced cost of their phone when compared to others released during the same time frame, I am looking forward to see if Motorola has learned anything from the pricing [debacle] of the X, and pay it forward to their launch of the X2.

Any rumors of a release date for the X2?

  • sirmipsalot

    Too little, too late.

  • Clint O

    $99 G3….Hell yes…Take my money verizon…ATT Note 2 FOR SALE – Mint Condition !!!! LOL

  • kilbasar

$99 G3?! I bet Fry would have something to say about this…

  • $100 additional off is 15% additional off (on a $650 retail phone). Let’s not be led around by the nose by Verizon’s subsidized scheme and believe we are getting 50% off.

    • SA_NYC

Thank you!! I seriously don’t know why the tech press hasn’t yet figured out to lead stories with the full retail price, and NOT the subsidized/contract sticker number. You aren’t getting that Galaxy or iPhone for $299, for $299 you’re getting the phone and a significant contractual obligation. It’s simply not the same thing. Almost every single technology press outlet falls into the marketing trap, and I can’t figure out why.

And while I’m ranting about fake pricing schemes, how about the way lotteries are marketed these days? “Powerball grand prize is $257 million! [Small print]*$172 million if you take the one-time payment option.” Press, wake up: that’s a $172 million prize, not the bigger number (which is paid out over years). It’s a simple application of the concept of the time value of money. But for some reason every media outlet seems to fall for it. I think I’ll hold the world’s first BILLION DOLLAR lottery. [Small print: payout is $1,000 per year for a million years. Or you can opt to take the one-time payment, of $10,000.] Maybe I’ll do the same with phones: FREE Galaxy Note 4. Just sign this 8-year contract…

Just when you might have thought Verizon had turned the corner with shockingly quick upgrades, they return to cryptic and vague form upon the release of a flagship. Welcome back Verizon!

  • Omar Amer

Anyone else besides me worried about the G3’s battery life. From most reviews I have seen(besides heat issues from extended use) is that battery life on the G3 kinda low compared to S5 and M8.

    • Bryan Mills

I’ve seen 12+ hours and 4+ screen on from the Korean variant.

      • Omar Amer

I was considering picking up the G3, but the heat and battery life issues kinda has me reconsidering. I will wait for DL’s review and see what Kellen and Tim think, might wait for the Moto X+1 at this point as well. My poor Galaxy Nexus is looking rather long in the tooth at this point.

        • Bryan Mills

Don’t keep the brightness at 100% and do heavy tasks like a clueless tech person and you’ll be fine.

          • TopXKiller

Surprisingly I have gotten use to the auto brightness on my G2

        • SA_NYC

Still rocking a GNex?? Good lord, do you’re self a favor and immediately buy whatever flagship is closest to hand, you won’t regret it. I lived my Nexus long and hard, finally lost it a year ago and picked up a used Note 2. And I seriously wish I’d bought this thing the very first day it came out; it makes me wonder why I withstood all the Nexus issues, primarily the atrocious battery life. Seriously, just do it, do not wait any longer.

    • SA_NYC

This guy. Did you see the Anandtech review?

      • Omar Amer

        yeah, just read it.

  • Ed G

Just in time. Next week, I am making my 2-lines into four so I can get the Family Plan with 10GB and 2 new phones. How is 4 lines saving me $25 per month, Verizon?

    Oh well…G3, here I come!

    • compujas

You figured that scam out did you? It saves you $25/mo on your line fees….but we won’t mention that you have to pay $25/mo for the phone to get that discount.

  • jamaall

I wish they were announcing a new line of droids. Unfortunately, there will probably be no deal when they are released along with the X+1. And does anyone else find it weird how there has been no leak for any of the droids when they will most likely be announced in less than a month? Kudos to Verizon and Motorola with keeping it on the low, but I wish there were leaks.

    • pyro74boy .

That’s because no one really cares about the Droid line of phones anymore. They where good back when they first came out but now Verizon makes them full of bloatware and nonsense that the Droids pretty much suck, Phones like the G3 M8 GS5 have taken over.

      • jamaall

I actually own a droid maxx, and its just as great as a moto x but with better battery. And yea you’re right, they’re obsolete now thanks to the moto x being the same thing. Moto X+1 specs were already leaked, and there’s no reason for the droids to be different. It’s just that usually if anyone finds any info on any unreleased phone, it’d be leaked right away. I’m just surprised that hasn’t happened yet. I remember last year’s droids being leaked a bit by this time.

        • pyro74boy .

Yeah I’m waiting to get my hands on the Moto X+1 LG G3 and Samsung Note 4 and will be buying the winner between the 3 of them.

          • jamaall

I’ve bough the last 3 generations of Droids, but I may just switch to a X+1 this year. The droids are pretty ugly thanks to the chin on them. 2900mah for the X+1 sounds pretty good to me, along with power friendly Android L. I’m not really considering the G3 or Note 4 because I don’t trust them, especially Samsung, to upgrade the UI as substantially as google will do. The X+1 will be stock for the most part, and that’s exactly what I want when android is going to see such an overhaul. Plus it’ll get the update first.

          • pyro74boy .

I’m not much of a Motorola fan myself but am more then willing to give the X+1 a test drive because everyone is always making their products better, My Samsung Note 2 has served me very well for a long time now but is starting to show some sings of age. People have accused me of being a Samsung Fan-boy but the truth of the matter is that I have had the best overall luck with Sammy to this point but am not stuck on just buying things from one different company I buy things based on what I feel is the best not on who made it. People are starting to get sick of Samsung

          • jamaall

I have to admit, Motorola sucked before the moto x generation. I’m not sure why I stuck with them, but I’m glad I did. I’ve watched my friends brand new S5 lag plenty, and have no reason to try Samsung when the maxx rarely stutters. The S5 has a snapdragon 801 and my maxx has a S4 Pro, and yet the maxx has better performance than the s5. Just shows how bad Samsung’s software is performance wise, too much gimmick bloat. I’d definitely give Motorola a try, the X+1 can only get better, and its already great.

          • pyro74boy .

This is why I returned my Note 3 because it lagged like crazy when compared to my Note 2. I really want to give the LG G3 a try many people are claiming that this is going to be the true phone to beat this year. Time will tell. Samsung needs to improve their performance on their phones and stop putting all of this junkware on their phones because they are starting to lose money it looks like from the Q2 results of this year. Not hating on Samsung just telling the truth.

          • jamaall

I have to admit, I really am against Samsung because they remind me of a bloated Apple. All of their devices look exactly the same and they flood the market with junk. They’re so gimmicky, and it really just slows everything down. The G3 looks pretty good though, I’d definitely consider it, but I feel like Motorola is on a roll right now so I’m sticking with them. Moto X+1 & Moto 360

          • pyro74boy .

I disagree with you about Samsung being like Apple and trust me I’m the biggest hater of Apple products you have even seen as I refuse to buy anything from Apple. Apple is the real enemy here not Samsung but you have the right to your opinion. I don’t care about smart-watches to me they are just gimmicks as I can go out and get a real watch and have better battery performance vs any of these smart-watches. The most I would be willing to spend on any of them is $100 bucks. I don’t even wear a real watch. When I got my Note 3 the lady who sold it to me wasted 10 mins of my time trying to sell me on the gear watch and I almost walked out the door before I ended up buying it because I told her there was no way I would ever spend $300 on a watch I would never wear. She lost the sale anyway because I ended up returning the Note 3 back to the store anyway because it lagged.

          • hoodieNation

Pretty much where I’m heading too. My upgrade became available two days ago and I’ve got an extra 2 gig line to transfer it to. Might grab a G3 for the wife with this sale, then wait for the X+1 for myself.

      • hkklife

Moto has always been a day late and a dollar short ever since, oh, sometime between the launch of the Droid 2 in 2010 and the Bionic’s seemingly endless delays and spec changes in 2011. They missed the boat in 2012 and got clobbered by the Galaxy S3 juggernaut and the RAZR HD arrived months later with too little RAM. Then the 2013 Droids arrived late last year with 720p screens and gimped specs in most areas compared to the other 2013 flagships.

I don’t see any reason for this to change this year. In fact, it could even be worse given the pending Lenovo acquisition. The last time Moto really beat anyone to the punch as far as specs and launch timing was the OG Xoom and that made the critical mistake of debuting in VZW 3G form before Wi-Fi. Before that, the OG Droid was the last time Moto was clearly ahead of EVERYONE.

  • sudenmorsian

Considering my two-year contract (GS3) is ending on Monday, this will be awesome 😛

  • jcpicard

    Can someone please
help me better understand the Pre-Order option starting on 7/10/14? Will
I get the phone in my hands before the in store date of 7/17/14?

I am trying to figure out if I can pre-order the G3 before a trip or if
I should just go to a store in my destination city on 7/17. Thanks.

    • Colin Huber

I’ve had devices get to me early before, never more than a day, though. There’s no real way to tell when it will reach you. I’d just plan on a 7/17 delivery.

      • jcpicard

Thanks for the response. I am flying to Minneapolis on the 17th so I guess I will look for a store to purchase when I arrive.

        • Colin Huber

          No problem. Good luck.

  • dannyWHITE

Your Verizon source forgot to mention the free G Pad with purchase of a G3.

    • Matt G

      Say what?

      • Bryan Mills

Yes, free G Pad . just pay $10/ month for 2 years. Not sure how they missed that.

        • Matt G

How much data do you get for the $10?

          • Bryan Mills

It’s on your plan. If you have 2/3/4/6 etc gb of data. No set amount just for tablet. It’s all tiered

        • James_75

Looks like it’s $100 off, not free.

    • James_75

$100 off is not free. Am I missing something?

  • Jam Master Jim

This is awesome! (For the users in tiered data plans)

  • JSo

I wonder if they would let my Girlfriend upgrade early. She has a boring Windows Phone. Need to get her back on Android. lol

  • JimmyHACK

So it’s not the normal buy one get one half off, it’s just straight up half off on one? Nice!

  • Matt G

Crap I have an upgrade and the G3 for $99…. Stop tempting me Verizon

    • AJ McKay

Haha, my wife’s upgrade window starts tomorrow. I’m really pushing the G3 on her, but she likes the S5 (coming from the S3). Of course, I also told her she could just have my G2 and I’d get the G3, but that didn’t go over well.

      • JSo

My girlfriend wants the Note. Her whole family has Galaxy phones. I keep telling them there are better Android phones out there but we will see if I can persuade my girlfriend.

        • boychik0830

there are my galaxy s3 from Verizon has had nothing but problems like huge battery drain, lagging, apps crashing and overheating. I think htc or any android manufacture is better than the galaxy devices. I do not trust Samsung enough anymore to consider buying a s5. htc are a much better than that GALAXY CRAP that SAMSUNG REFUSES to SUPPORT.

          • JSo

Yeah, I’d probably try to push her towards an HTC or LG.

      • p4

I did that with my htc one m7 with the wife .. she got the m7 and i stole her upgrade for the m8 😛

      • TopXKiller

Let her use the G2 for a week, 100% sure she will keep it 🙂

  • Swoops212

Now if they let me keep my unlimited plan and use this 50% off I think I would starting liking Verizon again. I know pipe dreams

    • James Heyneman

I’m using my dad’s upgrade he’s got for his flip phone. He doesn’t need a new phone since he hardly uses it.

    • Buzzy42

I’m in the same position. Have unlimited and very seriously considering the G3, but not going to give up unlimited to get it…. although this makes it so tempting. I keep hoping there will be another “glitch” during the launch window like we’ve had a few times before where somehow you get to keep unlimited (or renew it).

      • Darkmatter

I was talking to an indie Verizon guy at the mall who will switch me to the G3 retaining my unlimited plan. I have multiple phones on my account which I guess is needed to make this happen? Something about establishing a new number temporarily to the new phone then doing a switcheroo? Can’t wait!

      • Kyle

You can upgrade and still keep UDP

        • CommanderZim

and how would one go about doing that?

          • JoshGlazebrook

You can upgrade another line on your account and swap the phone to your unlimited line. Or transfer the upgrade from your unlimited line to another line on your account on Verizon’s website. The phone will come ready to be activated on the non-unlimited line that you transferred the upgrade to. Once you turn it on and activate it, you can put your sim card for your unlimited line into it. This will extend the contract for your unlimited line by 2 years but keep the unlimited data plan.

    • boychik0830

well that will only happen in your dreams. I want unlimited data back but you will never get it back unfortunately.

  • Justin Faluotico

I can’t decide whether to get the G3, wait for possibility of the Z2, or the iPhone 6…

    • James Oswald

I think your at the wrong site to consider an the iPhone :-p

      • Justin Faluotico

Lol yes I know. I’m more of person not to argue when technology is good even if I don’t like the company. If the iPhone was better I would say something. It is not. So I will not say anything.

      • Bryan Mills

The Sapphire Crystal display and 4.7/5.5 is really pushing me to them. Samsung sucks, HTC sucks, Sony hardly gets in the US, and I’m not sure on the G3. So iPhone 6 is getting test run from me.

        • James Oswald

I disagree, which is why I’m tracking android phones. I have the note 3 and I’m very happy with it. Not sure what more you want. It would be nice if Samsung toned down all of the extra apps and bloat, but they gave the note 3 3 gigs of ram, so Oh well.

It will be Nicer when Google takes over pushing all android updates like they are working towards and getting the Carriers out of the loop.

But, If you think all manufactures suck, your in a tough spot. Smart phones in general are just coming out of what software programmers would call a beta phase. We’ve all just been testers while they work out the bugs. Sucks, but that is the cost of quick advances that we have been seeing. (I’m guessing you didn’t buy computers is the 8086 and i386 days. Same issue, newer better computer the next day)

But if your after tech advances, that hasn’t been Apple the last few years. We’ll see if they do anything more than a catch up to Android this year. I truly do hope Apple goes back to pushing the Barrier on what a smartphone can do as that is a win for all as everyone else as the other manufacturers will have to push more too. But I doubt it will happen. Most likely more jokes at Android’s expense and a larger screen that they said they would never do and busted on all the large Android phones.

          • Bryan Mills

Android is getting worse and Samsung is ruining it for everybody.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

          • Justin Faluotico

How do you see Android getting worse?

          • Matthew DiGiacomo

He’s an idiotic troll. Don’t bother.

          • Matthew DiGiacomo

          • kg2105

TLDR Android is better than ever but you just want to whine about it, good riddance.

          • Greyhame

Apple hasn’t advanced technology in their iphone line? How have they not? Granted, their software is not my cup of tea, but their CPUs are some of the best in the business. Same goes for their cameras. It’s too bad (for my iphone loving friends) Ivey has so much say in design, preferring svelte devices, and doesn’t let his engineers marginally increase the size to fit an all day battery in his phones. The rumored capacity of the new iphones does not sound like an improvement (1800 mAh for the 4.7″, and 2500 mAh for the 5.5″ are probably not enough for larger screens with higher resolutions).

Sorry, I know we’re all Android lovers here, but Apple is still pushing the envelop in hardware at least. I guess this may be why I prefer Motorola devices… their greater focus on hardware which (fortunately for me) lends to their preference to leave good software alone.

          • kg2105

How have they not advanced technology? Low res screen, small screen, dual core instead of quad core, small battery. Apple’s CPUs are not some of the best in the business, they are ahead of the curve on GPUs not CPUs.

          • Greyhame

Most of your points were choices they consciously made that have nothing to do with improving or advancing technology. That’s fine. I’m not trying to change anyone’s opinion of apple. I’m just trying to be honest and unbiased.

        • Matthew DiGiacomo

          “Samsung sucks, HTC sucks”

You lose all credibility right there bro. HTC made an amazing phone with the M8 and M7. Samsung, while some don’t like Touchwiz, made a very nice phone in the S5 and the Note 3 is an awesome device.

But go ahead and believe the hype with the Sapphire Crystal Display and all that other nonsense.

          • Justin Faluotico

Honestly I feel like every Droidlife post I view that B. Mills guy is in the comment ruining everyones day.

          • Matthew DiGiacomo

            Yeah he isn’t too bright.

          • compujas

I haven’t been reading comments here for too long now and I got the same impression. Glad it wasn’t just me.

    • If the Z2 came with quad hd I might would wait but it doesn’t and doesn’t really offer anything better other than build quality.

      • Camera…

        • Maybe but I don’t know that the Z2 does have a better camera. I’m not going to base it on mega pixels. I know the Z2 is said to be good but I also am curious how much this laser will improve autofocus and shutterspeed. The 2nd sensor did make the M8 better in those areas than the M7.

      • Justin Faluotico

Waterproofing is nice. That’s why I almost considered the S5 when it came out.

      • ceejw

Why would you want quad hd? All the G3 reviews make it sound like it’s not possible to tell the difference between it and a 1080P screen but it needlessly kills brightness, battery life and perfomance.

        • People said the same thing about the jump from 720 to 1080 yet here I am, refusing to consider 720.

    • eee

Grats Justin, you got The Narrator to agree with your possible choice of iPhone 6.

That is how you know it is a very bad idea.

    • TinaE

Wait for the Z2 it’s awesome

  • Scott Martin

no z2 phone? at least i don’t have to decide between that and the g3 then.

  • jimt

    It’s a Verizon trap, jump in./s

  • CommanderZim

So, no off-contract discounts then? Bollocks.

  • pyro74boy .

I don’t like to pre-order anything I want to use it now and don’t like waiting for anything. I’m also very happy that my wireless carrier has no control over my data plan and can’t tell me when to leave by holding onto a contract for two years. Verizon has tried every trick in the book to get me to lose my unlimited data plan including lying to me. I told Verizon that the second I lose my unlimited data plan they are losing me as their customer and since I’m already off contract I can leave whenever I want and don’t have to pay a penny to leave Verizon. Contracts suck trust me I learned the hard-way when I was stuck with Sprint. LOL

    • Naibas

My wife HAD to have the S5 and willing sacrificed her UDP to get it. Well…to the victor goes the spoils…I no longer have to hang on some ‘oversight’ or glitch on Best Buy website. I can simply give her my upgrade, ‘upgrade’ her S5 with the G3, and then put my SIM in the G3 when it comes.

*worse case scenario I actually activate the G3 on her line, before switching back to the S5, and then putting G3 on my line.

      • pyro74boy .

Yeah there’s always ways around everything. and if it works go with it that’s what I say.

This is the longest Its been without me being on contract with anyone and I must say it feels great knowing that Verizon has no control over when I can leave them. The second they do something to make me upset I can say goodbye and it won’t cost me a penny to do it.

  • TJ Walsh

50% off sale is decent but the LG G2 is free right now (mainly cause the G3 is a week away) but if you do not want the bigger screen then that is a good deal.

  • Jeff McLean

Too bad Verizon already burned that bridge….

    • Shane Redman

Still hoping for some sort of a G3 GPE, then I’ll hop off this family plan and join the magenta group

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

        Join the Deathstar.

        • Order 66

They built a new one???? I got to get in on the bidding for their next project…

  • Kevin Sosa

Here is a picture I took yesterday of Verizon’s LG G3.

    • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

First thing I saw was the logo… I dunno. I guess we should just stop complaining. I still like the device, though I’d probably go off contract on the At&t model since I haven’t heard news about an LTE unlocked model

      • TheWenger

Meh. It really kills the nice design of the device. That’s my gripe.

    • j

So.. they also changed the color? Initial colors didn’t include pure black.

      • dannyWHITE

That’s cuz its not the G3. The only colors Verizon is caring are Silky White and Titanium

    • Justin Faluotico

That looks like the LG G Pro 2

      • Kevin Sosa

It is huge. It dwarfed the GS4 I used to take that picture. It had KitKat 4.4.2 and the camera was as fast as advertised.

      • j

Agreed. looks identical. so, I call BS.

    • Sir Wilhelm

So according to this pic, Verizon had LG change the placement of the ear speaker and moved the camera to the right side of the phone so they could put their logo front and center.

      Kill it with fire!

      • rawr

This isn’t the G3, he trollan’

    • dannyWHITE

      That’s not the Verizon G3

      • bobbyp

Well the guy has something in his hand and it is not the G2. The Verizon logo does not lie. I just wonder if it is going to be a finger print magnet since it doesn’t seem matted like the other variants.

        • rawr

It isn’t… Google Verizon G3, Verizon has a picture up.

          • bobbyp

All I see are renders of the phone no actual pictures of the device.

          • rawr

Then I have a bridge to sell you

        • Verizon’s version looks awful. Too bad, I really wanted that phone.

          • Bryan Mills

            That’s not the G3.

      • Justin Faluotico

The speaker and brand placement look more like a G Pro 2

      • guest

Its the LG Vista. The bigger brother to the G3 but lower specd. Obviously he is an idiot and should atleast know his device before posting.

        • LG

You know I work for LG and can track this device by the numbers on the bottom. smh heads will roll

          • rawr

Tell your CEO to stop letting carriers control branding and bloat.

          • I lol’d.

          • Kevin Sosa

Let’s hope you’re nice enough not to do that 🙂

          • Bryan Mills

            You deserve it.

          • En Garde…

#1 – No you don’t work for LG
#2 – Heads will not roll (who says this?)
#3 – I work for the Internet and can track you and your computer by your post. smh heads will roll

          • patt

            he works for mc donalds…

    • dannyWHITE

I’ve seen the Verizon G3. The Verizon logo is on the top right just as it was with the Lucid 3. Verizon and 4G LTE logo still centered on the back of the device.

      • rawr

Is AndroidOrigin right with the link from jnt? (aka all glossy and not looking like a G3).

    • jnt
    • anon

      Thats the Vista. nice try

      • bobbyp

Looking at the Vista I agree 100% now.

    • Bruce
    • T4rd

What the hell are you smoking..? Verizon already posted pics of the G3, here it is!

      Reference: http://www.droid-life.com/2014/07/02/verizon-lg-g3-wtf/ 😉

  • Tony Spencer

Hopefully they’ll have a deal like this when the MOTO 360 comes out!

    • It Never Ends, Does it?

      Every single time….

      • Tony Spencer

        • Tony Spencer

Only when I have a 360 on my wrist.

    • ceejw

I doubt Verizon is going to be selling the Moto 360.

  • Joe

Should I upgrade my note 3 to the lg g3?

    • Do you use the S pen a lot?

    • Thomas

      Wait for the Note 4

    • Cory S

I’d call that more of a semi lateral move.

    • pyro74boy .

Between these two phones the G3 but also keep in mind that the Note4 will be out in a few short months

    • rawr

If you want to free yourself from hardware buttons I would.

    • b00sted

I sold my note 3 I just could not stand touchwiz any longer.

      • rawr

Does launchers like Nova not remove a majority of what is wrong with skins? The only devices I’ve ever had are stock android so I’ve never experienced it…

        • Shane Redman

It’s all still there in the background eating away at resources. Launchers only hide it.

        • Colin Huber

I use Nova and I love what it does. I understand people’s hate for Touchwiz, but I haven’t noticed any lag since the device was released. I think the UI needs a total overhaul, but that doesn’t bother me much because other launchers are an option. Plus, I think the way they set up their searchable settings menu is the most productive way to run it all. Battery life took a hit with the update, but it went from two full days to 1.5 days. I can still live.

    • Sporttster

Considering it, too. But wait for more info on how folks like/dislike it. Don’t jump right away. Thinking of selling my N3 to get it but not gonna jump until I’m dang sure I want it….

  • Jon Edge

this might be a good opportunity to try the G3
