This may seem all so overdue, but the day is truly here – the Pixel 11 series of phones is official. Google made the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold available and revealed everything we need to know about them. Pre-orders are also live if you are already thinking about purchasing one.
In their announcement for the Pixel 11 series, Google said they are introducing major camera upgrades, enhanced durability, and their “fastest, most powerful chip” to date, in case you were wondering if these will be worth switching to. They were also designed for Gemini Intelligence, which is a suggestion that they will be proactive in helping you get things done.
Let’s dive into everything new in the Pixel 11.

You’ll notice that we are starting with 256GB storage in all models, that the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro now get Qi2.2 25W wireless charging support, and that Pixel HiLight is really a thing.
Pixel HiLight is a new colored LED lighting system on the Pixel 11 Pro phones that is built around the camera flash, so it’ll light up when your prompt Gemini or change to custom colors for callers. Google didn’t highlight any other uses for it at the moment, but did promise that more features will arrive before long (like message notifications from favorite contacts).
Google wants you to know that the Pixel 11 camera bar thickness has been reduced by 40%, so it’s more pocketable and wobble-free on a desk. It still has that satin finish to its metal frame, comes in 2 fun colors (Pistachio and Hibiscus) and two neutrals (Frost and Obsidian).
For the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL, Google is bringing us displays that can reach 3600nits of peak brightness and with a new anti-scratch display coating that has double the scratch resistance.
In the camera department, Pixel 11 has a new, larger 48MP main camera that “delivers 56% more light sensitivity,” plus the Tensor G6 inside allows for 30x Super Zoom.
For Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL cameras, Google is calling this the “Pixel’s best camera yet.” We have a brand new 50MP main sensor and an upgraded 48MP telephoto sensor. Those combined with Tensor G6 brings 120x Pro Zoom, 5x portrait shots, and even more light sensitivity. This thing can even do Night Sight capture at up to 4.5x faster.
When it comes to Tensor G6, Google says it has an upgraded CPU that provides 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches. It also has a TPU that processes on-device AI tasks up to 3.5x faster while using 3.5x less energy.
So yeah, there are a number of upgrades here that you’ll have to weigh before pulling the trigger on a new Pixel 11 phone.
