The gradientificiation of Google logos continues this morning with a new Google Maps logo arriving.
Back in May of 2025, Google made one of the first major logo changes in years. It’s “G” logo had quietly switched over to a gradient style where the Google colors flowed together rather than being separated or blocked off individually. Google said nothing about the change at the time, but eventually did a few months later while also debuting a new Google Home logo. They’ve since updated other logos too, including Google Photos.
Today, Google Maps and its logo received the same gradient upgrade to its logo and you should be seeing it on both Android and iOS. We woke up this morning to a completed overnight update that introduced it on our Pixel 10.
Is anything else new? There doesn’t seem to be. This is a logo update for Google Maps and nothing more. I say that because inside of the app, you’ll likely still see the old logo. Silly.
