  • As good as Cyangonen is, they aren’t really missing much with Lollipop. Especially 5.0.

  • I’m honestly shocked it has taken this long. all other OEM’s have pushed Lollipop to their 2014 flagships, and CyanogenMod is arguably the least heavy (outside of Moto’s) version of android out there. I’m a bit disappointed to see that it has taken this long….but then I look over at my CM12 running OnePlus One and realize its not that big of a deal…I have been running lollipop fairly problem free since I got the phone in December.

I’m excited to try both ROMs out when they are available though…been a long time since I have run official software.

    • Then again most other 5.0 updates being pushed out scrap material design and or lollipop features, and tend to be rather unstable. Only exception is probably moto devices, but even the nexus 6 had problems before 5.1. I just hope the long wait means a rather polished ROM with little bugs..

  • I’m actually dumping my N6 for a OPO…I’ve had enough of the N6 and it’s instability.

      • Unfortunately I’m on Sprint and for some reason the N6 works like garbage on their network in my area. Samsungs and iPhones have had a lot better luck with Sprint’s network in my area…which I find odd. I would switch to TMO, but it’s very limited in my area.

    • You will love the OPO. It is definitely the best overall android device I have owned, even better than my beloved Note 2. I am running SlimKat 4.4.4 and it is rock solid. Battery life is phenomenal.

  • And this, ladies and gentleman, is why I bought a Nexus 6. I’m done playing the “when is my phone getting Lollipop” game.

  • A bit longer than originally promised…but I’ll still be very happy to get it. And honestly with the customizations of CM11S I haven’t been missing Lollipop too much. The two things I want are screen pinning and the new battery meter. Not deal breakers, but both very useful.

  • Malik . if you, thought Edith `s remark is flabbergasting… yesterday I bought a new Mitsubishi Evo from having earned $7037 this-last/4 weeks and-more than, $10 thousand last month . with-out any doubt it’s my favourite job I’ve ever had . I started this 10-months ago and almost immediately began to earn minimum $73, per-hr . read the full info here Get more information

    • If CM12S is anything like CM12 on the One, it’s phenomenal. I’ve been running it for 3 1/2 months and it keeps getting better and better.

  • wow just wow this is so BS. First why do the OxygenOS have first priority over 12S and second is it a 3 days after?. it honestly should be the same day or 1 day after not this BS so called company. I gave up. I honestly want to throw this phone into the ocean mentally. The wait time is so BS that i’m selling this phone ASAP on Ebay and swappa. So if anyone wants it reply back to me for a fair price and i’ll give you a link for it.

PS Only reply back if you are actual interested or have something nice to say. If you want to disagree than fine but please say why and not a comment that is so mean. This is just my opinion nothing more or less. Already getting comments that have no respect for someone who disagrees with him/her,except for one person, which agrees with me

    • I don’t think the difference of 3 days says anything about “priority.” It’s probably just when the final builds were finished and deemed ready by devs.

That said, there’s a huge positive here: how many devices have two completely different yet fully supported versions of the OS? This is pretty cool, IMO.

I will also say that Lollipop’s release in general has been pretty rough. I wish Lollipop were ready for my One sooner, but I’d rather have a stable build than a buggy build.

      • i agree with you but what i do find weird is that there are 2 versions. I thought the point of having this phone is that there is suppose to be only 1 OS. To me having 1 rom and 1 regular OS is weird for a phone of this kind when the guys who are a rom based teams up with a company that makes a phone without rooting to begin with. you know what i mean?

        • To the average user there will only be one OS, and that is the one thats on the phone, and the one that will hit OTA, which is Cyanogen 12S.

Oxygen is put out by OnePlus themselves, the Oxygen team is completely separate from Cyanogen…hence the difference in dates. I’m not even sure if the Oxygen OS has to go through the same testing/certification CM12S does since it will never hit the OPO OTA.

and the point of having this phone was that it had powerful hardware for the price of mid rangers, AND it ran CyanogenMod out of the box. yeah, we all expected updates to come quickly…but if you were really worried about running CM12, you would have been like the majority of people on these boards and flashed CM12 3 months ago and would still be happy with the phone….thats me. the only reason I have been waiting for CM12S is so that its just more stable…not that CM12 has been anything short of a solid ROM for me.

      • im only saying that as i sidenote since people don’t know what is a opinion when they see one.

    • It is still considerably better than most android update schedules and Cyanogenmod 12 has been ready for a while now. Many have been using it with no issues. I’m swapping over from a Nexus 4 tomorrow and will have no problems looking back. Unlocked and easily unlocked bootloader on a inexpensive phone is ideal.

    • Personally, I think since the fallout with Cyanogen, these guys are focusing on their OxygenOS. 12S is thrown in there … because they have to support it for 2 years.

From a network standpoint, you want to space them out. Servers get a lot of use with a new OS rollout — 2 new OS’s, might cause issues. It’s best to space them out, and frankly one had to go first. I’m more excited about trying OxygenOS to see if it’s worth my time rather than CM12S (which I know is great, stable and probably phenomenal on the OPO)

But three days really isn’t that long to wait. You can go flash an unofficial CM12S ROM if you’re that impatient that a 3 day wait will make you sell your phone.

    • What condition is ur phone? I’ll buy it off you for 300 if it’s in mint condition.

      • It’s not in mint but pretty close. Only minor scratches on the sides like 3 dents. They do offer a bamboo so you can swap that to get rid if that bugs you

  • and here I thought the point of getting this carrier unlocked, bootloader unlocked phone was to get the updates whenever you want. Apparently lots of users don’t want to try doing it. I have been running lollipop on my OPO for a long time now.

    • Some of us don’t want to reinstall all of our apps/import all the settings, unless it was an official update. For one, I don’t care to research which of the 3rd party ROMs are the most stable.

  • hmm i’m totally out of the loop on these guys…. So Lollipop is not even available for Oneplus people? Jeez

      • true.

i haven’t followed CM in a while, just surprised things haven’t progressed quicker.

        • Probably trying to make sure it’s bug free and smooth unlike the half/assssed versions that other OEMs have done.

          • CM release a bug free version of their OS? No way. If they wait until there aren’t any bugs before releasing it, then no one’s ever going to see this version.

          • I laughed not out loud at this. It’s so true. Their ROMs are decent, but always have annoying bugs that just don’t seem to go away. I’d much rather do a stock AOSP with Xposed type dillio instead of CM.

  • But do you need an invite!? I spent $300 less for a fantastic phone but booooo invites boooo
