Google is implementing a new way to get inside of your Google account: Selfie videos.
This is yet another way for you to access your Google account should you become locked out, and as always, it’s recommended that you have multiple ways of signing in for when those times do occur. Plus, setting one up is super simple.
How to set up and use selfie video
- Setting up a selfie video is simple: You just look at your device’s camera and complete a few short, guided head movements to capture multiple angles.
- If you’re having trouble signing in later on, you just take another selfie to get back into your account. Selfie video compares the new video to the one you set up to confirm it is really you and help you get back into your account.
Given the times, Google says that when your selfie video is utilized for sign ins, it goes through multiple layers of security, ensuring that no one is utilizing a deep fake (AI-generated photo or video) in an attempt to access your account.
This feature is now live. To create one, look here.
