This year when OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 7 Pro, it also released the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G for select markets. That phone hasn’t made its way to the US, but instead, it appears that a second phone with 5G connectivity will be released in Q4 this year, presumably the same one Sprint was recently hyping.
Speaking to the Financial Times, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau stated that any phone coming in late 2019 would need to feature 5G in order to be competitive in the market and that he expects 5G coverage to be more widespread in 2020.
As for what we can expect from a second OnePlus flagship phone in 2019, beyond the 5G readiness, is that anyone’s guess is as good as ours right now. We know some folks care greatly about names, so our bet is for the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G 2019 Edition X2. That sounds about right.
And don’t forget, OnePlus makes TVs now, too.
