Silly Name and US Unavailability Aside, the $245 Meizu 16Xs Looks Impressive

Meizu, a company we hardly ever discuss because their phones are not readily available in the US, has me wishing just a little bit that America and China were getting along. With pre-orders up in certain markets and priced at around $245 is the Meizu 16Xs, a budget smartphone that looks like something not made for a budget.

The phone features a 6.2″ Samsung-made AMOLED display, Snapdragon 675 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, 4,000mAh battery, tripe rear-facing camera setup (featuring a 48-megapixel shooter), in-display fingerprint reader, and some sweet backside color options.

While you can find a few Meizu devices on Amazon, this phone is not scheduled to launch in the US. You’ll be able to find it in some Asian and European markets, but for us in the US who always want more options, it shan’t be coming. And again, this is a $245 phone. If the camera setup is even somewhat decent, those specs speak for themselves. It looks like a solid phone.

Who do we have to elect in 2020 to get some Meizu, Huawei, and other Chinese OEM action in the US?
