A render of an upcoming OPPO device, called R19, was posted onto Weibo this week. The render shows a smartphone with a notch, but we can’t even call it a notch. It’s definitely more of a display cutout, so that’s what we’ll call it.

As you can see, at the top of the display is a legit circle cutout for the front-facing camera. This design allows there to be no actual notch in the display, and if you’re asking my opinion, I’m all for this look.

The render also details an in-display fingerprint reader, something we’re anticipating for OnePlus 6T. We’ve seen a few takes online mentioning this could be the OnePlus 7 for next year. While there’s always a possibility for that, we still don’t have the OnePlus 6T, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

What do you think of this front cutout for the camera? Could this be the future for mobile instead of big notches?
