Google starting rolling out a refreshed UI to Google Photos today, one that matches the other new Material tweaks they’ve done to Phone, Contacts, and Android Messages. That means a new font that you either love or hate (me!), a bunch of icons that lack filling, and more white, even if Photos was already plenty white.

The new Google Photos will show up on your phone as v4.0.0.211496615.

In terms of layout, not much has changed from what I can tell. You still have Photos, Albums, Assistant, and Sharing shortcuts at the bottom of the app. Within each, you’ll notice the new font and some tweaks to visuals too.

One cool new thing seems to be this swipe-up action when you are viewing a photo that lets you look at the photo’s info, like the time and location of it, camera settings, size, etc.

Head on over to Google Play to grab it!
