HTC uploaded its Camera application to Google Play this week, allowing users to download updates and fixes straight from the Play store, no longer having to wait for firmware updates to hit their devices. Much like Google, HTC is seeing the benefits of breaking down its system into downloadable apps, bringing the overall size of the system down quite a bit when it comes to OTA updates.

This trend continues after HTC previously uploaded its Gallery and Weather applications to Google Play, with more likely to follow.

Of course, the app is completely free to download, but only a select portion of HTC’s lineup is compatible as of this moment.

Have at it, One owners.
