HTC Hosting Black Friday Deal, Grab a One on Verizon or Sprint for $29.99 on Contract

htc-one-review-pretty

With Black Friday upon us, it’s time to start narrowing down where we are all heading to get the best deals on smartphones. If you were leaning towards an HTC One, which is still a reasonable option for new smartphone buyers, Verizon and Sprint will be selling them for $29.99 on contract Friday and Saturday only (11/29-11/30). Starting today (11/25) through 11/28, the device can be purchased for $49.99, and then December 1 through December 7 for the same price.

On top of that sale, HTC is also hosting a little giveaway for a 24kt gold-plated One. No, not the faux gold they announced this morning, but actual gold.

Starting TODAY, November 25th, HTC will be prominently featured in Times Square with a digital billboard that brings beautiful photos, taken by visitors to Times Square and people across the U.S. to life in a big way. In addition to the thrill of having their images splashed across Times Square, those who submit photos may also be eligible for a chance to win a HTC One each week, and two lucky winners will receive a special edition 24kt gold plated HTC One valued at more than $2,500.

With that said, go try and win yourself a gold phone!

It’s 9:30pm on Black Friday and all the HTC phones are all full price on verizon. Am I missing something?

  • InternationalRelationsXPERT

It is a ripoff. You think the phone is only $29 but when you look at the the plan prices you can see the cost of the phone is hidden in the plan price. So you will pay for that phone many times throughout the two year contract. Try a regional carrier that does not subsidize phones for the best deal!

  • Verizon+ Person

Just an FYI…..Verizon PLUS Stores (Indirect Agents) will be having a sale with ALL ANDROID PHONES being FREE (new activations/upgrades) on 2YR contract agreement with the purchase of 2 accessories (while supplies last) on BLACK FRIDAY between 9am-12pm. Check your local Verizon PLUS Store…..

    • ReturnOfTheMack

When you say indirect agents do you mean stores like staples and other wireless/tech stores that sell Verizon phones?

      • Verizon+ Person

No (although those are “types” of indirect agents). There is an ACTUAL indirect agent called Verizon Plus (only CA, TX, FL have them)

        • ReturnOfTheMack

Well sucks for me then, I’m nowhere near any of those.

  • http://infotainmentempire.blogspot.com Rob

    Whoa, the website changed!

So if you do this on a second line and then cancel it, you pay for the phone and the ETF… does HTC have another ETF like Amazon does? Or would it just be Verizon’s ETF?

  • Chris

if only my upgrade was now and not in February. plus side, If I wait then I can get the M8 or s5

  • Patrick Crumpler

All the on contract deals are a joke. Your still over paying for service.

    • InternationalRelationsXPERT

Yup!!!! End the subsidies and get lower prices for all!

Everyone: SHUDDUP WITH THE “NEW LOOK” COMMENTS

You’ll get your chance to whine or praise when we actually get a relevant article.

Does the new look have anything to do with a 24kt HTC One?

To the haters: downvote all you like

        hungry much?

  • Lawrence_Hart

I’d rather pay the regular subsidized price and keep unlimited data.

Best Buy will have the same deal. All carriers in all colors. Including the exclusive metallic blue.

Just saying in case someone rather go in store or have a gift card for BB or want blue or something.

  • b00sted

I need the Note 3 on sale.. *crosses fingers*

  • ReturnOfTheMack

Can anyone speak to their experiences of CM on the Verizon HTC one? To my knowledge it’s available and I’m between this and the Moto X.

    • JBartcaps

      Moto X, that is all

      • ReturnOfTheMack

I know but $30 is tempting and I’m pretty sure I can do this and keep my unlimited data.

        • wolfedude88

          how so?

          • fritzo2162

You buy the phone on another account, then activate it on your account. People on Family Plans can do this very easily. I’ve done it twice so far.

          • ReturnOftheMack

Let someone on my family plan use my upgrade and the switch the phone to my line and reactivate the smartphone they were using before.

    • fritzo2162

I’m running CM with Android 4.4 on my VZ One right now. Works very well.

Feel like this site took a huge step backwards… Whoever designed the new site really wanted to screw with us or they just don’t know any design principles.

    • http://www.droid-life.com/ Tim-o-tato

Relax. We’re still tweaking with the look. Hang in there.

    • JBartcaps

I think now people are just saying to say it, or get upvotes. The new look is actually great and it was a much needed refresh. People need stop being a**holes about it and actually provide some constructive feedback that can be useful for the writers.

      • http://www.droid-life.com/ Tim-o-tato

Exactly. We’ll be posting an “intro” to the new site, and there we will be asking for all of your constructive feedback so we can make changes as needed. This is day one of the rest of our lives. We’ll get there! Together! :)

        • JBartcaps

For some people it’s the apocalypse, just glad we haven’t seen Bob and his tank yet.

        • Bob

Usually sites do a beta before rolling out permanent changes… Would avoid a lot of this.

Don’t put the cart in front of the horse.

          • Chris

beta? you’re kidding right? name 5 well known sites that have done “betas”

          • wolfedude88

gamefaqs is one, but I completely agree with what you are saying.

          • Chris

not exactly well known and gamers have a short attention span and will get mad over every little thing

          • Col_Angus

            RWD FTW!

        • lgreg64

I for one like the new site. I think it scales very well. I always check the site when I’m at work so I keep the browser small and the new site scales beautiful.
