DROID X Orders Backed up to 9/22, Incredible Lands on “Certified Pre-owned List”

The Droid X seems to have been plagued with the same stock issues as the Droid Incredible, although as far as we know should have nothing to do with screen availability.  We really have to assume that delayed shipments are from high demand and a need for users to have such a big a** screen taking up every last inch of their Diesel jeans pocket.  As you can see from the shot above, the DX has now been pushed back to 9/22 as the next available shipping date, but reports from many of our readers lead us to believe that they are arriving much earlier.  In fact, a meager 8 day delay isn’t too bad really.

In semi-related news, the Droid Incredible has landed on Verizon’s “Certified Pre-owned” device list which we’re still trying to wrap our heads around.  Obviously they are listed as “out of stock” but what’s really baffling is why someone would go this route to purchase their next phone.  Interested parties are still required to lock into a new 2-year contract to receive discounting pricing on the “pre-owned” device which really only lands you a $50 difference from a brand new device.  That worth it?

Anyone’s Droid X arrive early?  Anyone interested in a pre-owned device?

Verizon seems to think they are sufficient to function as Manufacturer warranty replacements. Even though your warranty date stays the same. Thanks

My Incredible just received the Android 2.2 update today. So far, I love it. However, sometimes I will open up my task killer and see random apps open, that I never opened. Like…

Actually the Certified Pre Owned (CPO) does not include a contract and the Droid is $100 off the list price.

Actually, no contract on pre owned and it is $100 off the list price.

I received the Droid x after I was on a wait list for the incredible for 6 weeks. I finally gave up and waited 4 weeks longer for my X. I was pleased with it at first until 5 weeks later the ear pice malfunctioned and I could not hear anything, not a phone ringing on the other end, not a voice ….nothing. After 2 1/2 hrs at the verizon store they sent for me to receive a new one, or so I thought. When it arrived as promised the next day I was delighted only to find it was a refurbished phone. Ridiculous! I paid full price 5 weeks prior and because they have a faulty product I am receiving a “fixed” model. I am disqusted with verizon. We have purchased plans for most the executives in our firm and I can assure you we will not renew any of them. How unfortunate. Maybe it does not matter to Verizon but, they've lost atleast 60 plans. That does make me feel better. I guess we'll try I phones. I'm hoping for better service. Buyer beware.

My DX was supposed to ship on 9/8 but it was at the door on the 9/3 so it is possible that it shows up early. one week wait for me was worth it, my buddy bought the D2 because he didnt want to wait but was kinda upset at how fast mine came.

My husband and I both bought droid x's and they arrived about five our six days early. That was two weeks ago. No thanks to verizon or fed ex on that one though… Verizon left off our number so fed ex wouldn't deliver it even when I offered to show my I D and gave them the tracking number… When I called customer service they wouldn't even reroute the package to a closer fedex so we had to drive fourty minutes away to pick them up at that fedex only needing to give them the tracking number and show my id. The whole ordeal was ridiculous……. But yes. We got them early.
