The Dropbox team released the latest version of their Android app today that has been optimized for Ice Cream Sandwich. While seeing “ICS” attached to an update is all the rage these days, that is definitely not all that went into this build. The list of improvements is major, and includes bulk uploads of videos and pictures, renaming of folders and files, an improved gallery view, uploading from local storage and more. Yeah, it’s impressive.

It is a fantastic app to have – I have 4 computers + phones + soon a tablet – and with Dropbox loaded on each I can transfer files around instantly and poof…. there it is over there and anywhere else I access via DB.
And BTW, this update – from a GUI standpoint alone – is a huge departure over what we had and I like much more.
When will we get tablet UI support? If box.net wasn’t so terrible, I might have switched by now. They have that feature in the bag.

It still doesn’t seem like there’s a way to download whole folders or groups of files or pics. If things aren’t zipped you still have to download them individually which sucks. Otherwise its pretty and functions a lot better than before.
This would be VERY useful…currently using folder synch to work-around….

Ive never heard of drop box. But looks cool. Is it basically iCloud for android? Is it better than zumocast by motorola? Zumocast does not allow you to upload things from your phone to your PC.

Didn’t want to wait for the market. I like the new interface. “Move” would make me happier still. I’m sure that’s coming. Rename and batch are awesome and quite usable on a Gnex.
