The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will arrive on doorsteps later this week after the pre-order period finishes up. Once those devices find new owners, there will be an update awaiting them.
Over the weekend, our Galaxy Z Fold 8 (our review) and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra review units both received new software. The new builds will arrive on US units as F971U1UEU1AZGI (Fold 8) and F976U1UEU1AZGI (Fold 8 Ultra).
According to their very minor changelogs, these updates provide added “Stability and reliability.” Overall “Device behavior has been improved” and that’s it. These are still One UI 9.0 and Android 17 builds, but the updates do weigh a hefty 637MB or so.

Both of these updates were downloaded in the background and ready to be installed without us realizing. Of course, each device prompts you, asking if you want to restart and update immediately or schedule the update for later.
For those who have a device early, you can check for Samsung updates by heading into Settings>Software update>Check for updates.
