  • Well its a droid x… In the “unannounced” photo the black shadow on the screen makes the to look different. In the droid X pic the shadow is too small so only a lil square is blacker. Now look at the bottom right of the “unannounced” pic… See the black bar? Shift your eyes to the droid X pic… See the black bar? They paint a droid X then strategically placed something to shadow on the screen tryin to make it look different… Thats my thought…

  • To me, this looks like it could very well be a Droid X3, which is just freaking awesome!
I always liked the design of my Droid X over any other phone, and I really like how it has hardware buttons on the bottom rather than touch-sensitive buttons. I hope they continue the Droid X phone series, and make a version with a front-facing camera, with 1 GB of ram and a quad-core processor. That would be so awesome

  • Wishful thinking: a disguised Targa, or at least the internals of the Targa. I really want the Targa.

      • If you look at the charger slot it highly indicates that the part his index finger is on is the back cover. Which would not Jive with that being the slide out screen. Droid OG, Droid 2 and even DX all have the orientation the same for the charger slot.

    • Thats what I was thinking, wasn’t the droid 3 supposed to have a similar sized screen to the X?

  • Just saw that there are 4 similar in testing…

Black / white, keyboard / candybar versions of a Bionix? Motorola has to do something in order to get HTC off its pedestal as owners of verizon with the TB and Dinc2 eating up 4G/3G respectively

  • Correct me if I’m completely wrong, but…… the side view looks an awful like a slightly modified, white Droid Bionic.

  • Okay, From what i can tell this is not the Droid 3, Droid X 2 or anything else we know of coming out (obviously as weve already seen the pictures). What it looks like from the Front is the Targa, however the side profile looks VERY similar to the Droid Bionic, thicker with rounded edges. Not to mention they were told that it has a rubber feel to the back of the phone.

SO my money is saying this is the new Targa/Bionic Hybrid that will be released next quarter. I am not crazy about the chrome paint job but the Targa/Bionic mix without the Hump is the best of both worlds to me. This is good news!!

  • Can one phone manufacturer just make a phone with dual core, FfC, at least 768 of ram, HDMI out, 4.3 screen high def, good battery and onerizon and hurry the hell up!

    THANKS

  • It would be nice to see more phones compatible with the Atrix Keyboard. The connections are reversed on the Atrix from the DX. I was hoping at some point to plug a DX into the Atrix keyboard and Honeycomb would pop up!

  • thats exactly what it is… it is a moto droid x body with a fatted cover on the back… only phone i know to be able to handle a dual-core or multi-core and have usb and hdmi on it… and if you look at the top of the device in pic 4 (if you were to be going left to right, top to bottom) it is exactly how the dx is…

    • Rumors are out that HTC is looking to Boot Load lock as well. Nothing is a guarantee.

      • HTC as a brand has always been dev friendly, with or without the bootloader locked. Look how the Thunderbolt came with a locked bootloader and it still got full root. Moto has to deal with SBF’s and all that Jazz. All I know is I want a Dual Core 4G beast! Wheter HTC/Moto Winner takes all!

  • I wouldn’t rule out the Targa. Early renders aren’t often very indicative of final shape. Besides, the Targa has the same form factor as DX (big slab, bump for camera).

Besides, you _know_ Moto is eager to leak some Targa teasers given the recent hoopla regarding the Bionic. They need to keep people excited despite their fumbles. What better way than to leak some Targa shots?

  • The new Motorola Droid 4G….obviously they are coming out with Droid 3 this fall, so this could be the 2012 release of the Motorola Droid 4G because its the 4th one and it will be on 4G network, it just connects easily, and the gap on the white one would be the slide out keyboard. If I’m wrong then its just a Droid X model.

  • We can only hope white = vanilla

Other than that, impossible to gleam much of anything from these photos unfortunately

  • I’d imagine that it’s the Targa. Their probably going to change the design from the render we found now that it will become the Bionic. They we’re probably counting on the Targa coming out later with newer tech that didnt need such a huge battery and now that they have to shoehorn it into Q2 or early Q3 they’re uping the battery

    • You make it sound like it’s a bad thing. I mean I’m all for some creativity, but the Droid X is certainly one of the best phones I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning, and one thing that drew me to it was its design.

      • I like the Droid X design also, but I hate that they are using the exact same design again with Droid X2. Thats just laziness on the design team’s part

      • I never owned the X but from my experience with it, I don’t like the design. It was too tall. I had a hard time reaching the notification bar while holding it in my hand.

  • Sigh…. As much as I like Moto, I just wont buy there products anymore. Everybody knows to 2 reasons. No need for me to repeat it over and over again.

  • If there smart, the could start doing what car companies do when testing devices are put out the public. Use a “mule” design to hide the unannounced product design so other companies cannot copy it and when its announced its going to be more a surprise.

    • I agree until they show a unlock device ii won’t bother thinking about what else they plan on making

  • i think im still sick over the bionic overhype.. ill be back in the fall to see where things have landed ; )
