Nova Launcher Beta Updated With New Drawer Animations, App Drawer Search Additions

• This works GREAT with gestures. I use double tap to open app drawer and the circle originates from the point of your tap. Just a neat little detail.

  Nova does so much I feel it would be hard to introduce a drastic updateb while still offering the same functionality. I’m able to customize my experience so well, that I would hate for them to change something that could alter my experience. Particularly running CM11s on a 1+1 with Nova on top of that..it’s perfect.

• Circle animation is not there on moto x. Virtually stock android isn’t supported…?

  • it is. its under Setting>Drawer>Transition Animation

    Make sure you signed up for the beta. I have a Moto X

• I actually don’t care as much about the animation. But finally, app drawer search… it’s been too long to implement this

• Surprised there isn’t more comments on this. I know it’s a minimal update, but still. Nova has been the go to launcher for awhile I believe. Is there another launcher everyone is using that I don’t know about?

  • Nope. Nova Launcher is King and always will be until the end of time.

    • Until the LauncherPro rewrite!!! :p

  • I prefer Nova but if I am building a complicated theme I will sometimes use SS Launcher. You can do vertical scrolling on the home screen with that particular launcher and it makes for some great themes!

    • I remember the time I did an Ubuntu Touch theme on SSLauncher… It was the only launcher I could do that.

  • I love Nova when Im unrooted. But with root, I use GEL with XGELS with xposed.

• Would be cool if apps are opened with the new “circle” animation.

• I’m glad they finally fixed the app drawer icon. I bought some new icon packs last week and it was driving me nuts.

    Basically I’m using a graphics feature added in Android 4.3, but even on 4.3 and 4.4, some devices didn’t implement it correctly. Notably the SGS4 (or at least some variants of it). The Transition Animation preference detects if it’s supported and only shows the option if it will work.

    • The option appears on my G2, but when when selected I’m not seeing the animation. It’s just.a fade type animation. I slowed down the animation scale to be sure and yep…

    • Circle reveal works with SGS3 (android 4.3)

• I’ve been waiting for a masked transition like this for a long time. Very nice!
