It is very common for sales of an Android phone to drop off shortly after launch. However, companies know they have something special when sales continue to hold strong months after a release, which is exactly what Samsung is seeing with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.
Samsung UK is so happy with its numbers that it has posted a blog to celebrate the occasion. In the post, the company details a 45% increase in sales across Europe in the nine weeks following launch of the Z Fold 8 series on August 7, 2026, compared with Galaxy Z Fold 7 sales a year ago. We already know that the Z Fold 7 sold vey well compared to past Galaxy foldables, so the latest figures build on that existing momentum.
Samsung also shared a bit of search trends via Google, which showed a 260% increase in searches for the Z Fold 8 series during September, with the largest increase during the week 6th – 12th of September with a 460% increase. Those searches must be converting into sales, which is why Samsung felt it fun to share.
So long as there continues to be competition for Apple’s iPhone Duo, we’re happy.
