According to sources of SamMobile, Android Q’s release will bring about One UI 2.0, followed by One UI 2.1 for the Galaxy S11. Of course, this aligns with what we saw earlier this year, with the launch of One UI version 1.0 with Android Pie, then the Galaxy S10 launching with version 1.1. It makes sense.
Sadly, there is no word on what an updated One UI version based on Android Q will offer. We’ve
noted bitched that Android Q is essentially Google playing catch up to other OEM’s custom skins, with the inclusion of things like a dedicated Dark Mode, so as of right now, your guess for what will come in One UI 2.0 is as good as ours.
With all that said, there’s no word on when Samsung will release it. Samsung’s record for updating devices is getting better, but don’t expect a miracle. If Android Q publicly releases in August, we should expect an update for Samsung devices either towards the late part of 2019 or maybe even in early 2020.
