Verizon’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are gaining access to one of Bixby’s few features today, thanks to an update available in the Galaxy Apps store. As we noted last week, neither phone was able to utilize the image shopping feature out of the box, but that now changes.

If you own either phone, head into your Galaxy Apps app and either search for “Bixby” or tap on the top-right menu button and then “My Apps.” You should see the update available.

What can you do with image shopping on Bixby? You can open your camera app, tap the Bixby Vision button (bottom left corner), and then point and shoot at items you might want to buy or get pricing info on. If Bixby is able to figure out what you are aiming at, it’ll pull up Amazon listings with pricing.

I’ve tried it a handful of times and it almost never knows what the hell I’m pointing at. If anything, it might get the category, but not the exact item. Hopefully, your testing turns out better.

Cheers Mike!
