Amazon announced its largest giveaway bundle ever this morning, which will go live on December 24 and run through December 26. For a limited time, $220 worth of apps and games will be free to download through the Amazon Appstore, including games from makers such as Rovio (Angry Birds), Halfbrick (Fruit Ninja), and SEGA (Sonic the Hedgehog).
Once the date hits Dec. 24, you can head straight to Amazon to check out the deals, or open the Amazon Appstore on your mobile device to see the listing. Amazon states that games ranging from $0.99 to $64.99 will all be marked as free, so this is quite exciting.
Starting December 24th and running until December 26th, Amazon Appstore will offer a number of paid apps and games for free, as part of the largest Free App of the Day bundle ever. The bundle includes apps and games from developers like Halfbrick Studios, Rovio Entertainment and Sega of America, which range in price from $0.99 to $64.99, all for free—saving customers up to $220.
When the deals are live, we will let you know and provide you with all of the necessary links.

A game worth $64.99? Ok…
My daughter is so stoked. Let’s hear it for nine year olds having tablets! Her birthday too. #technologicalparenting
Too bad, you’ll need to keep the Amazon Appstore on the installed device to keep on using those free apps.
Not if you have the previous version of Amazon’s main app. It included support for their appstore. Google forced them to remove that from the newest version since it violated the Play Store’s terms of service, but if you still have the previous version (or can find an .apk), you’re good to go without the separate appstore app.
Its still there on the Play Store iirc.
It’s called Amazon Shopping now, doesn’t include all of the same functionality
I probably won’t ever need the app priced at $64.99 either, but you better believe I will be downloading it because….. free haha.
I’ve added about 40 amazon apps to my account this year, which only 5 are actually installed. Like a hoarder I think maybe I’ll have use for it in the future, but free is free.
I liked it a lot better when amazon was giving away $1 in coins for every app you downloaded, I have $40 in coins to buy digital media, till they caught on people were doing it for the coins, or they were releasing to many free coins.
I would rather buy my apps…
highest priced thing I can find on there is a $30 diamond pricing calculator lol
Here’s an app for $400: http://www.amazon.com/LZW-Publisher-Prothetik-Index-Pro/dp/B008ELBVAU/ref=sr_1_97?s=mobile-apps&ie=UTF8&qid=1419271194&sr=1-97.
There are a lot of apps ranging from ~$30 to ~$150 in the reference section.
[EDIT]:Here’s another app for $1,000:

Shocker! Nobody bought the $400 app.
Always wondered how this worked for the developers…is amazon paying them instead or are they agreeing to the freebies and getting nothing?
from my understanding they release it for free for “publicity”
As I understand it, devs who get published on Amazon app store have to agree to terms that Amazon can ‘promote’ their app by giving it away for free anytime.
A game worth $64.99? I’m sure it’s probably a dictionary app or something.
mobile only or will the fire TV be included in this?
Which game costs $64.99? Is there anybody on the planet who would have bought it?
There are sadly people who pay $99 for car packs in Asphalt.
Usually 2 out of 50 are worth it lol
