Just as NVIDIA claimed it would, an update to Android 5.0, aka Lollipop, is hitting SHIELD Tablet devices across North America this morning. Not only is the SHIELD Tablet the first non-Nexus tablet to receive the Lollipop update, but NVIDIA has packed it full of fun features to keep users busy.

An updated Dabbler application comes preloaded, perfect for your stylus needs, as well as an updated SHIELD Hub for all of your gaming desires. As detailed in the last post about the Android 5.0 update, NVIDIA is launching its GRID Gaming Service across the country, meaning your SHIELD Tablet just became a lot more valuable with access to PC cloud gaming.

The update is now live for all SHIELD Tablet owners, so if you own one, you best go get to downloading.

But if this news has pushed you to the verge of buying one, remember that if you decide on the 32GB package, NVIDIA will gift you three games, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Portal, and Half-Life 2 for free.

Cheers Jacob, Steve, and Anthony!
